I live dangerously and only reseal the ones that come out. But I'm not sure I'd recommend that for everyone...

Please listen to the previous posts , Bret has remans for $1700 , which are real remans , not just shot with cleaner and put in boxes . These guys just want to help ! I also wonder how clean your fuel system is , water in tank , road crud getting in sending unit , good filtering system ? If previous owner got 150000 to 180000 out of oem , the other two sets didnt go very far , I just hope you make the right choice . Good luck !
I am taking everyone's advice. It's just right now I don't have the funds for injectors and I don't want to ruin the engine by driving it, but I have no choice since it's my only vehicle.

Roughly 70k miles. The guy that I purchased the truck from gave me all receipts and this set was put installed in 2010. In 2012 they started failing again. When I put amsoil injector cleaner in, it clears up most, but not all.

With that amount of miles on them I would highly recommend testing them first. If they test good or within spec you could put a set of SAC nozzles on them instead of buying the complete injectors to keep cost done for you.

Once I find my receipts from my tools, then I can do my taxes. Then I should have just enough for the injector kit with lift pump. I'll just do the stocks until the trans gets built then I'll order the sac nozzles. I'll give you a call once I have the money in hand for them.

You’ll regret having to pull them twice.

I have no choice. The trans is tired from a life of pulling a fifth wheel. I don't have, nor can I get 10k to do it all at once.

You have no need to do stocks now then take them back out. Listen to bent and send the injectors and maybe you can Save a chunk and just do nozzles. If you’d rather just go ahead and do the injectors buy the SAC 45 overs and let someone put you a single EFI Live tune in it. You can tune the injectors to stock power and a good tune may even help your trans life.

As far as a lift pump, yes you need one. But it’s not 100% needed right now. Spend that extra money on SAC injectors. Then save for a lift pump. I’d recommend the single Kennedy lift pump kit. Great pumps. Easy to install. And a dang good price and customer service.

Do you NEED to drive a truck every day? For the price of injectors that'll get you a fancy beater car around here.

X2

I paid $2000 for my 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP supercharged, and have driven it to work almost every day since. No guilt beating on a car that costs less than injectors, and it's surprisingly peppy with the supercharged 3.8L.

If you're that tight up for money, you will need reliable wheels, and swapping injector tips has a lot of potential to leave your truck down for a while if things don't all work out perfectly.

Out there they are not all rotted from the salt , not a bad idea , a $2000 pickup to hall the parts around to fix up the dmax when he can afford it . Not bad !

So I've ran a few tanks through since I did my injector test, I'm also running amsoil injector cleaner in every tank. I also found a route to work with less traffic, but more miles and the smoke is minimal now. If I idle for a few min, she'll do a decent puff, but otherwise I don't see it smoking as much. Gonna put my scan tool on it tomorrow and check balance again. I'm also getting 18+ mpg which is quite shocking for needing injectors and she runs smoother too. I know it still needs injectors, but the injector cleaner is helping enough to where I'm not hurting the engine more.
