Todd, you are right that there isn't much proof that the hold down isn't bending. However, i doubt that if it bent it would return to normal. They are not forged, they are cast.

That's outrageous to be honest. The hardware is 30 bucks! If you are seriously bending or breaking stock lly+ hold downs something in your setup should be revisited.

And what isn't priced outrageous on a built motor. I wanted to pull the next weekend and didn't want to screw around. I also look at it as a one time cost as you only should ever have to buy one set. Sometimes saving money costs you more in the end.

Sometimes i am willing to just say F- it too Dave. There are some things i dont have the capability to source both quickly and cheap. But that's not much these days, thanks to this forum and making a lot of my own mistakes in the past. In the end, i guess if you spend a million dollars or 100 dollars, and end up with something that works, it doesn't matter how you got there. Though, i have bought the newest and best and most expensive a few times now for this truck and it failed anyways...

Sucks when you decide to pay through the nose for something and you could have built something better yourself. So I agree on that. We always try and save money around the farm when we have the time. When its harvest or planting time most of that goes out the window because we just want to get up and running again.
