I’ve seen a bunch of different answers about the blocks being different ranging from they’re not the same to after a certain year they had the provisions for medium duty mounts. I can tell you that the transmissions don’t mount the same. No rear mount, they mount at the bell housing. I think it has something to do with the e-brake which is a drum on the rear of the trans.

I believe the blocks are the same (front ears) but the rear covers are different due to the motor mounts.

Here’s an interesting development. I’d seen the tag but never bothered looking at it. Don’t know how old the engine is now lol.

Looks like it. I don’t know if short or long and if short, did they do anything with the heads?
