Injector size 100-200%

So I am putting new injectors in my truck, and am debating between 100's or 200's. The bodies will be modified so it is a true 200% injector, not just tips.

I have an s475, with plans to upgrade to a larger charger in the future or possibly triples.

My question is, is there such a thing as too little of pulse width and timing? I don't want to have to upgrade injectors in the future, and want to run around 2000-2200us as my biggest tune. I am leaning towards the 200's too so I can really use rpm to my advantage and fuel to 4600-5k as well.

I have 100% injectors, and yes, you can have too little pulsewidth. It is a pain in the butt to clean up my truck below about 300 HP with these injectors. I'd imagine that would be even more true for 200%. Now mine are only tips, as far as I know, but they were done by Exergy. Idles clean, and makes clean power above 300 HP or so, but light throttle? It's a mess. I've tried high and low fuel pressure, but it only seems to change the color of the smoke slightly. Throwing obscene amounts of timing at it helps, combined with low-ish fuel pressure (think 8* timing, 100 MPa, 600 us pulse at 1600 RPM). Still hazes more than I'd like.

Now if you have good compression and a good cam, it might be easier to deal with. I'm running an overly large cam, and the 59 degrees overlap means I have effectively low compression (350 PSI at cranking speeds). That can't be helping.

I am leaning towards the 200%'s and just deal with the smoke. That way I won't ever really run out of fuel, and if I do it would be a competition only truck at that point. My cam is barely bigger than that size, my compression is 310ish cranking.

I have exergy 150s, af9100 cam, 15:5-1 (300psi compression)

Mine is smokey at start up and has a decent haze once up to temp. As the nights get colder the start ups are getting worse. I plugged it in tonight. Suppose to be low 50s

I liked my 100s... you will have way more fuel on tap with 200s than your truck will ever need.

If you go 200s plan on putting a bar in your truck. If you don't want a. AR and make one pass wonders I'd go for 100s.

I run II 100s, but they are definitely larger than that. They are Smokey as crap under 20psi boost. I ran 10.8 on a 1650 tune, and 10.6 on a 1950us tune. They idle pretty clean really, just a small haze at 6kpsi.

My dd tune has been as low as 1050us, which I'm sure would have run a low low 12. Now I roll around on a 1300us tune, which blows the tires off anywhere under 50mph. Makes 65-70psi.

I like the low pulse and timing, just wish they smoked less.

Why not go for something like a 125% over. You'll have plenty of fuel without the disadvantages of 200's. I'd suggest motorsport nozzles as well.

If you plan to drive the truck regularly you will be disappointed in going with 200 overs. This is because you just cant clean up the smoke in a aggressive driving situation. Say you want to make the red light or pass someone and stab it quickly you will put out entirely too much smoke. Stay in the 125 area max in a regularly driven truck. You cant just cut the pulse and clean it up. It is not that simple. You would be much happier with a 100-125 over injector and make over a 1000 hp without a problem. You could do it with about 2200-2400 us of fuel on 100 overs depending on the overall combo. Going big is for racing and competition only style trucks. It is your money but I can promise you that if you go that big you will wish you hadn't. Motorsport nozzles are really the way to go as well because it does atomize better and the spray angle and pattern is different and can benefit you there as well.

X2. My set up is not really to street friendly. Maybe here and there but no dd.

Either way, they daily drive pretty good, but can be real smokey if you're not paying attention to throttle input.

I heard somewhere that even if you swap 100% nozzles onto stock bodies, they are not true 100% injectors, and a modified injector with that same nozzle will flow more and be a true 100% injector, is that true?

Obviously without receiving a balance/flow sheet, who knows what you really have. If you purchase properly balanced injectors the builder is going to show you what they flow, regardless of what the claimed percentage is, they flow what they flow.
