Injection pump question

Hello Gurus... I'm new to the "electronic" age... I recently purchased an 07... I am however a seasoned diesel mechanic and to this point have owned, repaired, rebuilt and driven only mechanically injected diesels, mostly 6.5s
Being new to a used 07 duramax, I love it, but it has developed a injector tick with 226K on it. Buying it used from a dealer, I did not get any history... I took it to a local guy and friend... had it scanned and he said it sounds good, has good fuel rail pressure but cyl 6 &7 are off a bit... He suggested since I had no history, it would be best to replace the pump and injectors... reasoning that if I just replace the injectors and then the pump goes, it would trash the injectors... I agree with him.
On to question: What brand pump and injectors to buy with the following info? I'm not looking to race it or role coal... it has a K&N cold air kit and an EGR delete. As far as I know it does not have a tune or chip, It is my daily driver and does need to tow occasionally. I'm looking for reliability and fuel mileage... More power is a plus, but not to the point of lowering reliability. and money is and issue...
What pump? what injectors? where to buy it economically?
Thanks for your input on helping and old diesel mech into the 20th century.

If it were me, I would data log the truck to see if the pump is in fact worn out and losing rail pressure. I would also check the balance rates and see what injector is bad. There are other reasons for ticks

Duramax is well known to have typewriter ticks. Especially after an oil change. Good chnace your wasting money on pump and injectors. Probably looking at $3,500 in parts only and probably still have the same tick when your done. If it isn't fuel knocking and smoking, I wouldn't bother it. No need to upgrade if you decide to do it too. Just tuning it will give you enough power to kill the stock trans.

Does the tick/knock worsen or follow engine RPM? IF not its probly the typewriter tick, I have only heard this on 07.5 and up never heard it on an LBZ or LLY/lb7. some probly have though.

I would definitely do some more troubleshooting before even considering replacing the fuel system unless you have vast amounts of money to burn. Definitely need to no more about the balance rates than "they're off a bit". Like said above I would datalog it or take it to experienced duramax mechanic and post his findings here if you're unsure. Guys on this forum have seen just about everything
