Okay I have a 2006 2500hd Silverado with a lbz every once in a while when I take off from a stop the engine light comes on and half my injectors stop working I can kill it for two to five minutes and it will run normal after that hooked it up on my buddies solus pro scanner it said a voltage fault in injector 3 or 8 and shuts down 2 3 5 and 8 injectors I think was the ones it said for fail safe I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or could tell me where to start looking for the problem thanks

There is no injector control module like most are accustomed to for the 06+ trucks. It is all built into the BOSCH ECM. Whenever the ECM detects a fault like an open or a short, it shuts off that batch of injectors. The ECM uses 2 different drivers to control the 8 injectors, so that gives you 2 batches of 4. When it detects a fault with an injector, it will shut off that batch to prevent damage to the injector drivers, which leaves you with only 4 cylinders still firing. This could be due to a wiring issue, poor connection, failed injector, and so on and so on. I would find the fault code, then get the diagnostric tree for that code, and work from there.

LBZ, no haven't ran across this issue with an LBZ. And FYI the LBZ doesn't have an external FICM, the ECM does it all. If in fact you find the problem in the control module and not the harness then you'll need a new ECM.

I have an LBZ ECM if you end up needing one. Shoot me a message.
