Old thread and you made your decision already but some food for thought for lurkers. One thing for certain I'm no Tech-no Geek and know a dirty diaper about anything but:

Last weekend while at Home Depot some melon head/eggplant/Grape soda drinker, stole my cell phone. For what? I have NO clue it was nothing special beat up ,which gets me to why I'm even replying to this thread, and they had it for about a half-hour before it was shut off and put on the stolen list so it cannot be reactivated. What pissed me off the most is the lose of many of my contacts. Didn't have back up running.

So,

Verizon is my Carrier always had good service coverage and customer support . Since I too was able to get a upgrade I opt'ed to upgrade to a smart phone.I really don't need a smart phone but what the hell. So in need of a RUGGED phone as I have the tendencies to drop my phone repeatedly on a concrete floor , hence my stolen phone was the Casio Boulder and would take a pounding I was looking rugged.

The recommended the Casio G'z One Commando which is military spec phone. Does way more than I'll ever need and I haven't dropped it yet but hopefully it holds up as well as my old phone did. So far so good but it's a only a week old. Check it out

My only issue with this phone is you need a Dam Purse to haul it around! Like most of these so called Smart Phones. :roflmao:
