Most occurrences I've read about where a gun inside the car has saved someone, was from people holding a knife to people with rolled down windows at stoplights and people getting into their vehicle.

Friend of mine here in San Antonio, at Zarzamora and Laredo street, got a knife held to his throat when he stopped at a light early AM, he grabbed the guys arm with his left hand as he pulled his .380 to the guys throat with his right. He climbed out of the truck with the gun on the kids throat and told him to get lost in 5 seconds or rounds were flying. The threat disappeared instantly

I was just joking. I have kept mine in all different kinds of places. I like the door panel other then people being able to see it when the door is open.

Idk about y'all but my huevos prevent me from sitting with my knees together like a woman...I'm close to 6'3" and my knees have never came close to the steering colum

lol I was referring to when I get in the truck. I've had brake controllers mounted in a variety of locations and it seems like anything mounted on that panel under the column gets hit as I get in.

That's what I was saying too. Hell half the time I nail my knees on the actual side of the dash. I am a clutz though haha.

I tried using my original XD holster between my driver's and center seat and found it did in fact get too close to the center console. I still would like it there though so I'm looking into biasing the console over slightly. I realized one issue with having the holster mounted on the front of the seat cushion will make it easier to have drinks and sorts spilled on it from the cup holder. Not a fan of that happening. Unforuntetly I've been told I"m banned from buying anything new until after Christmas lol.

How about on the underside of the jump seat console? So it would only be visible if that console was flipped up.

The only problem I forsee with that is getting in the way of a would be female passenger trying to get ummmmm ....... Work done:D

I think you hit that one right on the head Damian. Literally.... :D

I don't have any pics to share as I sold my 04 a long time back.

Keep in mind I always make my own or have custom holsters made for my concealed carry. I'm a picky guy on a lot of things. But I will use some off the shelf parts in cases like this.

In my shop I used to sell a bar and mounting flange that went between the drivers seat rails. Required removing a few bolts to install. But once in place it was rock solid. It was drilled to the mounting pattern for the Blackhawn Serpa holsters. I'm not a fan of them for concealed carry. But they have great merit for this application. Also they are made for almost all handguns on the market. This allowed my to change my holster easily as i changed the particular handgun that was in my truck.

The holster sat almost parallel to the seat bottom and carpet. By using a serpa the gun was positively retained in case of a hard stop, wreck, rollover, etc... Whiole still allowing a one hand draw.

It is not the fastest spot to reach. However, once you factor in opening a console, or glovebox to reach your weapon. It is in fact faster. A gun in a holster wedged in the seat is the fastes draw. However if the holter isn't retained properly then you may just draw a gun with a holster and a covered trigger. This location covers my neads to have a concealed location, positive retainment, and draw from my seat.

Cheap, easy, effective :D

I like your under seat mounting method, sounds very effective if I visualize what you said, and yes I agree whole heartedly with what you said about the BH Serpa holster and believe it would be perfect for what you've done with it, very cool:thumb:
