I know that most of you are having fun with this. Please don't think this was meant to seperate the masses. I love all duramax's equally!

I'm just trying to get an idea how many half year LLY's are out there.

I didn't realize how many there actually are on this site.

I have a question for you guys. What months were the 04 LLYs built?

If I'm not mistaken, the 06 LLYs were only built for two, maybe three months. August and September of 05 for sure. I'm not sure if they started in July or not. I'm almost positive the LBZs started production at the end of September because I remember they were going to start being built them just a few days after I got my truck (which was September 23, 2005).

how about a 2004.5 LLY with 2006 LBZ parts ? does that count ? seriously, if you haven't seen it yet, its the turbo inlet mouthpiece off an 06 LBZ +a true cold air intake, in my case I have the entire 06 assembly that if not entirely , then mostly deals with the overheat / can't breath problem / mileage issues that the LLY's suffer. I picked up a whole lotta responsiveness and a couple mpg's just by swapping in the 06 turbo mp. Plus my ac blows colder due to the diminished heat going thru the stack. I am now averaging combined city/highway mpg at the level I used to get strictly highway. I now get 16.5 combined, haven't checked all highway yet. And its real world measurement, filled to the same place in the neck so I can hand calculate it.

yea my buddy did the same as you with the LBZ intake elbow and air box. he went from a max of 36-38 psi to 46-48psi and from 12.85ish to the new best of 12.44. once i get some money i will for sure be doing this upgrade.

but yes i think you qualify for the club.
