Allison 5sp: I'm limped, p0872

So being the nice guy I am, I went and pulled out a buddy of mine today. And about halfway through 30 clay puddles all heck broke loose.

I had an overboost, security, p0703, and limp mode all at once.

The security, TC lockup, and security went away after a code clear.

Anyways I limped it home and cleared it again, and as soon as she went back into drive she slammed into 3rd and stays there.

I DO have reverse.

I also have u1000 (always have....)

I JUST replaced my extension housing, so there is almost 5 gallons of brand new amsoil (my wallet is still crying) in the tranny.

Now I know it's cylinder/valve lock up, but the problem is of the hundreds of motors I've worked on I usually never dive into a tranny.

Is there a writeup somewhere on how to clean out the valve? (P0872 does mean locked solenoid C?)

If I take it to a tranny shop will they just want to rebuild or replace manifold, valve body, etc

Help!

02 LB7 5sp 4x4, I was in stage 3 hypertech but am now wiped back to stock.

Good man.:thumb::D
I'm 6'4 and 250lbs, there was no way of physically doing it without a lift lol

as far as the E shift valve, do you recommend the stronger spring? Or replacing the whole thing? Or just cleaning it?

Find out what is making it stick, clean it well, and put a stronger spring in. Stonger spring by itself will not work if there is trash floating around inside.

Perfect. Thank you very much.

As far as the Forum thing, we are both on both forums. Shouldn't be an issue.

Well it is on my end. There are usually 10 unread threads on here. And DF is usually an average of 60. According to my AutoGuide and Tapatalk apps

Tell me what kind of high tech you get there. 60 bad answers there or 5 good ones here? You won't see much of me over there.

The only thing I get here is tranny replies.

They are usually pretty good about everything else.

Just way too many smoke questions. And way too many "will these tires fit"

99% of the answers you get on DF are from internet experts who have no clue what they are talking about.
I think each site is its own. Even if DF is a more social site their is knowledge in each.

Tranny; Mike
Suspension; JWC
Weight and Hauling; Goose
Tony from 1A is also very helpful, if he doesn't already have a link to a build or a manual he will find you one!

Finally digging in, I couldn't find Tap Magic!

Just got the pan off. Little bit of water. F......

Anyways I've got everything ready to go.

I think it entered through the dipstick seal. (The water that is)
There isn't a whole lot, just a few bubbles in the bottom of the pan.
