Thanks steve, let me know what ya can do.

X2 on what steve said. Im gunna check balance rates tomorrow as well but have a feeling with 5 month old diesel they wont be pretty. Last time it smoked in march it smoked bad even at 180 degree temp. It wouldnt clean up. Then today it just straight stopped after two min run time idleing. Temp was maybe 10 degrees over ambient (120*).

I'd go find any bio that you can and fill a fresh fuel filter with it, and fill as much of the tank with it as well. Bio is better than any additive.

Im more concerned with compression first. If its up, we are headed down the right track and that will be next along with checkin the balance rates. If it aint, i know where i stand

Well i must have been high on something yesterday cause compression is the same and shes still smokin. All i can figure is the wind was carryin the smoke the other way

Damn  is it knockin again too?

yup. i let it run for twenty min and it started to clean up but still had some haze. Oh well, built motor it is :D. i think i was wanting it to be "fixed" so bad i didnt pay very close attention to the light haze it had.

Just a passing retarted thought i had while driving home tonight and i dont remember all the specifics of your problem but could it possibly be a severly lifted cup causing the low compression and making it smoke by letting coolant into the chamber??? Im sure im way off and i cant come up with a reason that a lifted cup would make it knock but it was just a passing thought.

yeah i thought of that too but its not a coolant smell i get from the exhaust, its straight fuel. Either way, im callin it "blown" and building the motor :D
