Got my repaired SoCal heads installed, buttoned everything up, started it up, ran fine for 30 seconds, then boom, shaking and sputtering.

Pulled a P0207 and P2146. Hmm... Oh crap, did I tighten the #7 injector wires?

Multimeter showed 0.8 ohms on that injector, and 0.1-0.2 on the rest. Uh oh.

Pull the valve cover (53 minutes, I'm getting better at this than I have any right to be). One of these things is not like the other:

Lol ive done that. dont feel too bad about it! try doing injectors when your tired after work with a buddy doing one side and you doing the other, only to remember 3 separate fricken times by the time steel hard lines are going on, you forgot to put the steel return line in, then gat back to that point to remember you forgot to put the injector harness in, then in the final run, forgot the little holders for the injector hard lines after all is back together.

i blame that night on exhaustion, too much talking, hot out side, i was hungry, the light was in my eyes, brian calling me 1500 times for no reason, oh and the dog ate my homework

I have forgotten to put the injector return line on before, I even installed the ficm before I saw the damn line sitting in the cart

Well now I don't feel so bad. I've also forgotten the metal return line before, but I noticed it before the upper valve cover went on, so that wasn't that bad.

These stories make me feel smart. LOL I almost forgot to hook up the slave cylinder line inside the trans on a cobalt SS i put a clutch in 2 days ago. Remembered it as soon as i set the trans on the dowels, i would have lost my mind because that transmission made me drop my flashlight against the wall. :roflmao:

I prefer to think of these "accidents" as "practice runs". You've got to play it off like you meant to do it, just in case a buddy is watching.

Ha! That's a good one.

Here's one for ya! When we put my truck back together I had to replace the starter solenoid. When I put the starter back together I forgot to reconnect the plastic arm inside the starter. We went to start the truck for the first time and...zzzzzziinnngg! I was so happy that I got to remove the starter again.

Had a friend of mine get sidetracked at the shop by a few fellow techs needing help. He was doing a simple oil change, put the oil hose down as if he was going to fill it and got called away. Came back later thinking it had already been done and drove away for a test drive. OOPS. Seized motor down the street from the dealer and is now doing a free rebuild :/ He's a 12 year tech, it happens to just about everyone.

This is why I work alone and lock my shop when I'm doing something like this. lol it really does make a difference to be able to concentrate.

Saw a guy do that with a C15 cat motor on its first 10K oil change. they got a brand new motor from cat. no rebuild. Damn near did it again two weeks later but shut it off right after he started it. he got 3 days off unpayed for that one.

I give zero ****s on the hard line holders haven't had them for years
