I do not have a hair across my as over you. I think you should buy what you want and buy American as much as possible. I am just giving you a hard time because you say one thing and do another. As was asked before; why did you buy a Saab? Was there another foreign car in bad shape that forced you to make a deal for it, and if so, what were you doing buying it?
I at least gave a realistic and believable reason for not buying American. I'm afraid of my wife.:roflmao:
I hope you realize this is all in fun. :D:hug::angel:

Not you some other person has the dinkle berry! :D

I bought the Saab knowing it was a GM owned company. I traded in a Monti Carlo for it. I don't see the double standard as a American company received my money. Similar to our trucks but your right in 2003 I made a poor choice. But I do see where your coming from.

Nine years later I have seen the light and changed my ways and would not do it again! Nine years ago things were different in a way although better then nine years ago bad decisions got us into this what I feel is a important issue!

Send me a dime. All I had was a quarter handy:

That's a old trick I've won a few five dollar bills with the old no fricken way! Want to beat? :D

I thought everyone that has driven a forklift knew it I always got the young ones to fall for it.

Yup, tilt steering, adjustable lumbar support, adjustable seat, AND a cup holder.

There is a cellphone/radio pocket too, and a built in clipboard.

These are all base options. The only options I ordered:

4000lb
48" forks
Sideshift
Pneumatic tires

Now I need some orange fuzzy-dice to make it complete.

That Clark you had must have been a dinosaur ! Are you sure those tires are pneumatic? They look very similar to the tires on my cat that are called I believe yard tires. I cannot have pneumatic tires.

We should have a fork truck competition I'll drive circles around you!

Kat my only issue is I have YET to see a legitimate reason why a Toyota lift was purchased over another brand. My assumption is he was told that a Toyota truck was reliable and dependable not because he did any research. Did he even look at a Yale , cat, crown or even a new Clark?

It's your hard earned money and have every right to spend it anyway you want. I know very well what new lifts cost. Was it cost? Was it because a relative sells Toyota ? It can't be because of the examples of perks because all lifts today come with those options pretty much. I see nothing special!

Basically I'm just putting a bug in those who are reading buy american when and where you can as maybe it won't effect your lively hood but it might for someone else. I mean no bad blood or harm . I feel it's a very important issue today in these times . In general I see piss poor attitudes and pride not so much here or in anyway am I saying that about you folks or many here. It's just something that should be discussed a eye opener that perhaps will spread around and something good may come of it. Has to start somewhere
Don't take this as negative!

I guess I'm just a confused :witch:

If you use it inside PROPANE is what you'll have to use. I have Cat forklifts (5k) a Hyster (10K) and a Small Petti-Bone Mercury (2500 lift cap) . I prefer Cats they have a Mitsubishi motor in them. Unlike the older flathead Continentals that you could NOT KILL. The Mitts? Just don't over heat it.

Cats are OK but they have a Mitsubishi in them?

Last I heard they Mitsubishi's came from Japan

i have worked on all the well known brands of lifts, and the toyotas really are that much better. they have been running the 3/4y engine in their lifts since the 80's i believe, and it is bulletproof. not just saying that, either. i lay my hands on 100+ used toyota forklifts each year, most have 5,000-10,000 hours on them and pretty much every single one still runs good. you flat out don't have to do anything to these trucks, honestly. keep up the fuel system stuff, ignition, and keep tires on it. the only leaks you will find under the hood are the transmission lines every 5k hours or so. i replace or rebuild a trans every other year or so, and thats saying alot considering what many of these trucks go through.
the only forklift that is better than a toyota gas forklift.... is a toyota electric sitdown forklift.

Kat my only issue is I have YET to see a legitimate reason why a Toyota lift was purchased over another brand. ...

Besides having excellent features for my app, the sales staff was knowledgeable, friendly, not pushy at all, honest, gave a fair trade in and a fair price. And like I said, it has as much US content as most lift trucks do.

Clark has been Korean for a long time now. My Clark Genesis Electric is all digital with all the bells and whistles. It's a POS but it looks pretty. Sometimes it it will move, other times it won't. Yup, I bought it used with low hours. My Clark propane runs fine, but leaks too much, and the trans is iffy. I had to have 2 lifts to make sure 1 would work when needed.

Yale/Hyster/Sumitomo Forklifts are international. Nacco Materials Handling Co.,Ltd. was founded through a joint investment of Sumitomo Heavy lndustries,Ltd. (a Japanese all-round heavy machinery manufacturer) and Nacco Materials Handling Group, Inc. (Yale/Hyster) With a firm foundation of two world ranking companies, the company is globally promoting its business, especially in the Japan. Asia and Oceania regions.

I'm no forklift expert. But I got an "education" whether I wanted to or not. I will never trust another forklift mechanic or used salesman again.

I guess time will tell. So far, it's pretty sweet. I like nice tools.:woott:

Isn't everything a mutt today? Like our trucks.

I know it's difficult to buy all American manufactured. I also didn't mean to start any war. Pat admittedly said he was a traitor. So basically I should have just posed the question as to WHY instead of going off on my rant about supporting America.

Lately it's really been on my mind as I see so much animosity and uniformed decision like examples of a car purchase over a bail out. That and seeing things like Veteran Novelty plates on foreign cars. Go try and Purchase a American Flag!

Just like I like to know how much our Government spends of our tax dollars on foreign made goods? I dunno this shit just drives me mad at times. I would just like to see real "change" and the American spirit alive and well again. This is nothing personal your not bad people!

Oh it was a Electric truck that plagued you with extensive repair bills. Makes more sense they can be troublesome.

As I explained to Kat I just wanted to know why you were a traitor sometimes mind and fingers don't correspond well and then things become side tracked.Like the Saab I purchased some 9 years ago. Agreed double standard and probably the biggest mutt that was ever built!

I also didn't do much research on which truck was more American then the others I just got locked on Toyota.

Hopefully in the end I got people thinking but I have my doubts.

Some feel I''m off my rocker I am but I'd like to see real change for the good. This Global Economy needs to be on a better balanced playing field.

He had issues with both his elec and gas lifts and more than one service place too!

I dont think anyone has thought your cheese has fallen off your cracker, everyone wants things to be better all around and most do what they can and still use common sense, I think it shows here with how well everyone has handled this (touchy) slightly off topic discussion to say the least! :thumb:

That's impressive, although I've seen it before. That's a huge fork lift also. Imsure that took many hours of practise.
