My lbz trans gets up to 180 quick. Even on these 0 degree nights. Could not imagine if it sat a hour or more. That's why I asked.

After I got in mine and was driving to work...right after the 170 warm up, I got behind a bunch of yoyos and it was downshifting and up shifting alot from all the speed changes. Must've freaked out being around lockup speed and threw a code. It was weird. Cleared it and has been running fine and lockup is there as I can feel it. Needless to say I turned off high idle

Some early lmm's would cook the converter in high idle or pto raised idle.

nope....

they fixed that in late 2006.....It was a problem with the truck going into heater performance mode (which, yes, is different than PTO/high-idle because it stalls the turbine in the trans) in the extreme cold while the trans fluid was still thick.

So it was a combination of Dexron VI being shit in the cold, and the truck being programmed to go right into heater performance mode after cold start.

The fix is either get the updated TCM calibration (which obviously all early 2007-on trucks had) that waits until trans fluid temperature is above a certain amount before the trans engages heater performance mode....OR change your fluid for something less shitty and more designed for cold temps.

I wonder if that's why Mine is shitting the bed? I've been running a stock tune for some time now and I went to my 100 horse tune the other day and the conver slipped like it's been raped on a 150 tune.

No, its because you drive your truck hard and its a stock 6-speed converter...

Was this an issue with early 6 speeds only or 5 speeds aswell?

If you dont care about my input, then why did you respond in the first place? You are absolutely ridiculous with all of your BS on the forums, and I think my reputation proceeds yours by a small margin.

Could have been a TCM that was sitting on the shelf for a while and had the older calibration. Or some other fluke thing.

Regardless, an 08MY truck should most definitely have the newer calibration.

My buddy's 07 LBZ already had the updated TCM software in it from the factory, if that means anything.

Mine didn't. Purchased in April '07. I had to bring it back for the update. But definetly anything released in late '07 and certainly in '08 should have had the update.

What was the build date of your truck? My buddy's 07 LBZ must have literally been one of the LAST GMT-800's off the line...his build date is 2007 calendar year, I think February, believe it or not.

I didnt even know GMT-800's were still being produced in 2007 calendar year, until I had seen his door sticker.

The one I am referring to was a early 2007.5. I think he got it in march or april...

There were a bunch of cooked 6-speeds up here before GM changed the programing in the tcm... Ben is correct about that but I think off on when they applied the change.

I know of 2 07.5 LMM trucks personally that got so hot the converters were turning blue.
