Idle Haze?

Well I had to go rescue a friend who cracked a #4 injector line on his CR dodge on the way back from dog days last Saturday night. I pulled him onto a friends trailer and turned my cargo light on to find some straps. Then I noticed my truck was hazing at idle, not really white, but a little darker gray color. I haven't noticed it before and you can't see it haze during the day, still haven't had much time to check some things out but I was wondering what you guys think it could be. I was going to do a balance test first, but don't know what else to check (naturally I immediately think it's a bent rod.) This was also the first time I've got diesel from this fuel station. It's a stock truck with EFILive, intake, exhaust, and 50hp industrial injectors, I seriously doubt I'm over 500rwhp. I need a few ideas on what to check, and some possibilities of what it could potentially be, don't hold back. Thanks.

Its gonna sound dumb...but how dirty is your air filter?

Mine was doing that last week (very slight gray haze, you had to look very close to see it). I thought it was fuel too as I got fuel in DE, then filled up at my regular station and saw no change. Changed the air filter and no more haze...knock on wood.

Not sure on the air filter, it's only been a couple months since I cleaned it and it doesn't see any off road. I'm gonna do a balance test on the injectors but that only tells you how much fuel is being returned right?

You can command the fuel rail pressure up and see if the desired fuel rail pressure is matching the actual fuel rail pressure. That would be the flow return rate. The Injector Balance Rate shows the difference in time the fuel is added or not added to maintain balance idle across all pistons. That is way I understand it. But maybe using the wrong words.

Wherever I am working
I have the exact same problem my truck has a constant haze at idle it is brutal and it really stinks I wish that somebody had a fix for this.

me too...when I custom tuned with EFILive is when it started doing this. Never noticed it with my canned tuner. Also, I notice it much more when the ambient air is heavier, i.e. barometric or high humidity.
