Ideas for a 6.0 problem?

I had a 6.0 for 3 years and you could always tell when it was time for an oil change lol it would idle rough. Also consider the injection control pressure sensor (icp) sensor, it can make that motor do strange things.

I got an update from them;

All the mentioned suspects in the forum have been covered but I found an article linking EGR cooler failures to an oilcooler that is apparantly commonly plugged by contaminated coolant, causing an oil overheat. This sounds very likely in this case, I will let you know how we make out...

What kind of engine oil is he using? How hot is the oil getting? IIRC the 6.0 has a oil temperature gauge I think. What i'm getting at is the 6.0 is a huei and engine oil plays a major part in how the engine will run. Did they change the oil cooler when they did the egr?

This is why I asked that. The oil cooler I replaced was almost completely plugged off. There is a screen under the oil cooler that can become plugged as well...

6.0 is the biggest money maker for repair shops. Box of bolts abortion from International ruined Ford's name for yrs. they kept selling the junk. Hate to see a buyer get screwed with these. Costs a fortune to change what's wrong and it won't end always another issue anytime is alot of the stories. We don't realize how many Ford guys traded those 6.0 trucks and have Dmax now and probably for decades to come now. Ford lost alot of sales on this mess.
