10.070 and 10.100 136 and 137MPH, D/A 5800; at the time of the passes. Weighed in at 6122 pounds right after the last pass of the night. Pics and video taken during the process, so should be a new record.

I didn't even want to take a leak in fear of not making weight, because we haven't weighed it since March and I've done some different things to the truck. I talked to the NHRDA crew after making the weight and discussed a +/- 1% rule to be in effect next year for variations in scales, N2O bottles being empty(less weight), fuel being burned, etc. Looks like we'll have something like that in place so things like what happened to Jeff don't happen again.

I totally agree on the 1% rule for weight. What happened to Jeff was not fair, scale could have been off that amount easy. What I do find interesting, Jeff is probably 50 lbs heaver than Rob, Jeff uses NOS, and when he weighed back at Indy he was 5990lbs. We are 120 lbs heaver, and unless Jeff has really taken the interor out of his truck, I can't figure out where he has taken off the weight???

Weight???

I will bet i'm 100 lbs. more than Rob. I weigh 300 lbs. The truck has full int. factory seats everything! I put the pulling hitch back on, over half a tank of fuel(factory tank) full nos bottle and still weighed 6025! Your tranny has to be 150 lbs. lighter. Not sure how but i'm sure I could get under 5800 pretty easy. I think they should keep the weight the way it is. It cost me the record but that was my fault for not having it were it should have been. If the give a plus or minus I will be at the minus end of things! It should be the racers part to have his weight correct and know what it is. Just my opionion but 6000 is a real truck weight and should be left there. Congrats again you guys(all of you) earned it. Jeff

The 10 point cage in this truck is over built and is 2" which adds weight. Most likely still 100lbs of mud in the thing too:D

Other than that, just seems like a heavy truck.

Jeff, we need to get to two trucks on the same scale. Rob stood on the scale before we pulled the truck on and he weighed 182, exactly what he says he weighs at home. Tranny is at least 100 lbs lighter than the Allsion and fuel tank a bit lighter for sure. Our turbo setup is heaver, but we do have race seats. No hitch or rear bumper for us either. Ours is an 02 GMC, maybe they were a little heaver that year then the newer models?? Don't know, but there sure is a 200+ lbs disparity somwhere.

I guess I must have missed it. What happened to Jeff? Sounds like he set a new record, but when they weighed him his truck was too light. Just wondering what he ran and whatnot. If there's another thread a link would be great.

Jeff broke the old Max'd Out record when he was at Indy in June, don't remember the time exactly but it was a 10.5x something. He successfully backed it up within 1% and when he went to get it weighed it was 5990 lbs. The way the NHRDA rules read this year you have to be 6000 lbs or more to qualify for the class. Randy doesn't want to change the rules in the middle of the season, so is sticking to it for the remainder of this year. They will change the rule to be within 1% of 6000 lbs for next year.

On Saturday Jeff was racing in Maple Grove, Pa. Aaron was in Saskatoon, Sas, and we were in Spokane, WA. Jeff first broke the old record with a 10.56 and made weight, then Aaron broke Jeff's record with a 10.38 and made weight, and then Rob broke Aarons later that evening. Fun day, should be really fun in Boise.

Rules are rules, why make a 1% rule. If the rule is 6000 then you gotta bolt some lead in the truck. I got fifth place in a SMART series race last year needed to be 2550 and came across at 2547. Guess what 5th paid $900 and I didnt get any of it. Rules are rules.

Ok I read it but I didnt change my mind, rules are rules. First 1% is fine then its 2% and before you know it every one is weighing in at 4500lbs

IIRC I think Randy said the 1% rule is consistent with what NHRA does. I may be wrong but that is the way I remember the discussion.

Quit over analyzing things, if they NHRDA wants to do a 1% rule, then they can. If they want to do a 2% rule they can. Your not on their rule board, and im pretty sure you will never have to worry about it anyways.

Big congrats to everyone who broke the record regardless of weight. It takes a huge effort to get 6000 +/- lbs moving that fast! Are any of you guys coming to the Diesels On The Mountain here in Denver this weekend? Would love to check out and watch you run.
