I think this time i did alittle more than just limp mode!

Well i have 43,000 miles on the truck now....2,000 or less have been very hard miles....truck pulls,burnouts,etc.....and the last 2,000 miles have been with Big tunes.... about 3 weeks ago i got my buddy with me who has a Good runnin 24v.....and did a series of about 3 or 5 burnouts....ok it was 5.....but the last one the tranny pretty much said F%#k You ive had enough and just started slipping to beat hell....so the following week Craig puts my truck to stock and i pull the ol girl back in the barn....so 3 weeks have went by and no driving....Today i feel like the truck needs attention...1st mistake....load up some trash and take it to the family farm about 3 miles away...well on the way i notice the CES light comes on....and im only going about 25mph...so im like WTF...well when i leave the farm i realize its in limp mode and is slippin BAD!!! So i am coasting to the drive way and Craig calls me....give him the news...run up get the PPE tuner clear the code....then go for a "Test" run....2nd mistake.......pull out on the road....hammer into it and its shiften great...3rd mistake.....than the 4-5 shift comes up and all F@$k no it says....BAM limp mode on the bone stock tune....i dont know it thats something to be proud of or not...

As some already know....A built tranny was already in my future plans...i just wanted to see what the stocker could take before taking a crap on me....
So now its up to the assistant chief to DEFUEL a tune now so i can nurse my truck somewhere to get a tranny:angel:

on edit....i really dont like the HUGE BANG when i put it in gear and reverse when in limp mode...im glad that went away after the codes were cleared

and since Craig made the tune....doesnt that hold him responsible!!! So what im trying to say is that he owes me a tranny@!!! All yeah

Wow that's incredible...stock allisons are still pretty tuff. Those DP tunes sure make some horsepower....

We're going to have to put it on a trailer and tow it to the tranny shop.

:angel: I had nothing to do with the destruction of your tranny. I didn't put a gun to your head and say "MAT IT". I just wish I was around for the burnouts. I always miss the good stuff.

i have a friend that does the same thing to his stock trans he runs the same tunes as i do limps it daily

Well, I know that feeling, glad to see you put the allison to the real test. I remember when my torque converter on my allison stage 4 went bad, the mistake was driving it around after it 300*F the one day. Now to test out all the rest of the stock parts :angel:

yeah believe it or not this tranny only took 4 limp modes before it didnt want anymore....but 3 were very hard limps....one was going about 100mph...and the others were doing WOT and burnouts......
and Yes we are going to have to trailer the truck to probly Crankitupdiesel " since there very close" becuase you can no longer drive the truck

Well finally this is what i came up with....
Crank it up diesel is installing right now a
ATS 5 star converter.
copilot
c1-c4 clutch mods
pump mods
and whatever other good stuff kyle does
im getting the FASS 95 gph lift pump
OD lock out
and a fuel kill switch.....then when i can get a E locker i will have that installed too its killing me not to have it back i cant wait
Its only been since november since i drove the dang thing lol

Trans problems

Glad to see you are getting your trans done. Mine seems to work very well. The only thing thats wiered is first thing in the morning when you put it in gear it hit's very hard! Other than that it seems to hold the power good. Are any of the Mcrat pack going to the TS race/pull in Bowling Green KY? I'm going there and the Outter Banks race in NC on the 23/24 of this month.

congrats on the trans eric minw took its 3rd limp this weekend and i finally have the money for it too so i will be calling mike hopefully this week but then i have to find time to do the install

Mine does the same thing - SCIII by Merchant. I love it though. Takes a thrashing. I plan to be in BG, just a hop, skip and a jump away.
