I was pulling a trailer today and rolled into the throttle good, just messing around. Well, the downshift was pretty harsh, with a bang and after that I'm getting a flare on pretty much every shift as well as a pretty long delay going from neutral to reverse. Truck is an 07.5 LMM with Suncoast 4 with 50k miles, compound turbo's. There are no codes, and a fresh spin-on filter didn't make a bit of difference. Any ideas?

Did you cut open the spin on that you took off and see if there was anything abnormal inside it? Just an idea.

No codes or anything makes it hard to tell. Have you been babying it alot? Just thinking if it learned in some easy driving and needs to relearn the power maybe? That wouldn't explain hard down shifts though would it?? Just thinking out loud...

Ok, I used a screwdriver and hammer to cut the filter apart and it looked fine inside. It almost seems like debris in the valvebody hanging something up.

Not knowing the history of the SC trans, try resetting the TAP's. There are times when you run big power and pull a big load and act stupid, weird things will happen. This was not a flame. We all act stupid at a given time.:D

I'm thinking that I had a tie-up, but instead of the splines on the P2 hub twisting off totally it shocked the clutches and blew clutch material off the plates.........Not to say the splines aren't tweaked, I'm sure they probably are.

Your clutches look like they delaminated. This means the gluing process did not take. I will bet that it is the C4 clutches that let loose. I doubt the C2 spines are hurt. Splines get twisted when every unit bites and locks. Your clutches are not capable of biting and locking.

What would be the best clutches to refresh this thing with? PM me a price if you'd like, or I can call you......
