Driving through the middle of nowhere Saskatchewan at about 75mph and I start hearing a growling kind of vibration-kind of like when you blow an up-pipe bellows.
It started getting louder real quick and stalled before I even got the truck stopped. When I try to start it now it fires right up but runs really rough for a couple seconds then stalls again. It sounds like something in the trans/bellhousing area so I suspect a flexplate or a converter bolt fell out but why does it run so bad then stall? Broken crank? Oil pressure was good right up to when it first stalled. No clue as to what is going on yet. Need to check codes yet too.

I wish I could. It only runs for a second or two and then dies. And the knocking is so bad I'm not starting it again except to let Ted @ MPL hear it if he wants to. Even when it cranks over it knocks bad before it fires. Something has definetly come apart whether it is a broken crank or a rod cap that is loose I dunno but it's very very bad!! The CPS code leads me to believe it's a broken crank though.

Biggest issue for me now is trying to find another truck to use for work in the meantime and figuring out how to get it back to Alberta. It doesn't help that I am stuck in the middle of nowhere Saskatchewan now working too. I will be updating what I find here in a couple weeks when I get home and get it torn apart.

Glad I already have a build started though! Now to figure out pistons and get them to G&J in Billings, get it assembled and balanced, shipped across the border and get my heads on it with some new injectors, studs, maybe a set of EPR twins, and built trans by MPL. Then bag on it for another 200 000km lol!

Put a wrench on balancer and see if its moving and flywheels not. Balancer bolt is a 1 7/16 iirc
