I remember, in fact I have a special shirt I wear each year on this day. Dark blue in color with an American flag on the sleeve. The words "I Remember" on the front and "United We Stand" on the back.

I have to agree with you Pat. This war started along time ago.

History shows us that more atrocities have been commited by the human race, against the human race, in the name of religion than for any other reason. :(

Things that make you go Hmmmmmm.

I remember we where working at an airport and got ran out. Heard about it on the radio on the way out. We went and ate at a dinner and I saw it on TV before they fell. I'm almost ashamed of my reaction at the time I surged it off. Me being from a small town never seeing a skyscraper I couldn't put it into perspective at the time.

I remember getting ready for work and hearing my Dad in the living room shouting at the t.v " its no accident they tried before and now they did it" not knowing what he was meaning I went to go look at the TV and seen the first tower on fire. and than just a little later seeing the second tower being hit and thinking it was a replay of the first one not realizing it was not. when seeing both towers burning than falling made reality set in and knowing this was real. We MUST NEVER forget who did this. Its makes me sick to see our government apologizing to these people What gives them the right????

God bless America and all our Troops.

saw this on another forum... thought it might be apropreitate herre
Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was 'desecrated' when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about theHoly Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for chopping off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide .

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution'sBill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care!!

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem' -- Ronald Reagan

I have another quote that I would like to add AND........I hope you forward all this.

If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under' Also by.. Ronald Reagan

One last thought for the day:

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said: 'A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in.. And how many want out.'

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

I remember, it's one of the reasons I wanted to serve my country and spent 5 years in the Marine Corps. I saw it all on TV that day and a couple years later ran in boots and utes (camoflauge utilities) from a pier to ground zero for a memorial tribute and saw the site for the first time in person. The windows were all blown out of the lower levels in my fiance's office building from the collapse and she had to make her way from Manhattan to her home in Brooklyn without a car, with the public transit mostly shut down, amongst the panic.

I have read through some of the BS conspiracy theories and it is easy to see through them to the truth. September 11th was the responsibility of Muslim extremists, and they claim the responsibility with a sickening pride. If you kid yourself into believing otherwise you are a fool.

Stole this from Adam, it is staggering to actually see the statistics laid out:

I am in no way saying that all Muslims are bad people, but the extremist groups would have a much easier time influencing someone who is already Muslim than they would say a Jewish, Christian, or Buddhist person.

I always think of a friend of mine from my first ship on 9/11. He was killed in the Pentagon. He was most likely the first active duty military casualty on 9/11. He was right where the plane hit and his remains were not found. His marker is in the MIA section on Arlington National Cemetery. He took orders to the Pentagon working for the CNO to spend more time with his wife and son. He was a really great guy.

While we do not endorse political threads on this board (it starts fights, and boils over into the tech areas), nobody is perfect, and I certainly qualify.

The Islamic Imperialists believe this is still 1972 Vietnam. Back then, the US was fighting for a just cause, but lost the political will when the cost and casualities went too high.

This is the motivation of their attacks. They can't really beat us in a war, but they believe they can make us surrender by scaring us.

They still operate under that theory. That Americans are too self-absorbed and greedy to make sacrifices even when it is necessary. Osama Bin Laden hinted at that in his broadcasts, and Saddam Hussein came right out and said it. Obviously Saddam was wrong, and I believe OBL's groupies are starting to find that out as well.

What they don't grasp is that Americans aren't a lot different than they were in 1941. Sure, we don't WANT to get involved in unnecessary wars, but if you try and back us into a corner, you're going to get your ass handed to you.

And guess what? That "scare them and they will run" mentality was the same motivation for the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor. The Japanese also thought that a serious blow to the US in the Pacific would make us stand down and agree to their conditions.

Guess the Japanese missed the mark on that one. And I'll bet the Islamic Imperialist missed the mark as well.

We need to keep to the heat turned up to high, and not give one inch. No negotiations, no safe-havens, no ceise-fires. I'm grateful to all our GI's and their families for making the sacrifices necessary to show these vermin that we will not surrender to them. And I'm grateful to all Americans who believe this is a crucial war, and must be prosecuted with as much vigor, perseverence, and cunning as we as a nation can bring to bear.

God bless all our troops and God bless America.
