Who doesn't need a little extra money.

Looking into finding some side work to keep me busy over the winter. I have to do it in my free time which is inconsistent as I travel for work. What do you guys do for a little extra money?

I usually flip trucks and truck parts on the side. I will usually buy trucks that are fairly popular at a really cheap price off craigslist or whatever and then part them out. You can make way more money off selling each individual part as a whole than re-selling it complete. It is somewhat time consuming, but you can sell parts on your free time when you are home by just posting an add up for the weekend. I can usually make 1-2k a month extra if I do it consistanly. Plus, I love working on trucks so it actually relaxes me.

Do some tuning on the side, also some computer work (I'm a network/IT guy for day job). Sometimes some auto work if it's more of a fabrication/performance type job and not so much a maintenance job...

It would be helpful to know what you are capable of, and your current field of employment.
I wouldn't tell a fitness trainer or I.T guy/gal to go build a fence or fix a broken car for a neighbor, nor would i tell someone like me to fix computers....
Cars, decks, fences, roofs, tree falling, pressure washing, window cleaning, auto detailing...any and all of these have put food on the table in past winters for me...nothing is below puttin food on the table...

I working the printing business and not your every day laser printers. Actual printing presses I do quality control for printing presses. Pretty hand when it comes to automotive stuff. I was looking into either buying and fixing cars to sell or buying motors and all and parting them out like 1SIKDZLI was talking about. If I could work seasonal out in the oil fields I would buy my career keeps me going all year I just need something during the winter months when I'm not sled pulling.

Working with printing presses sounds pretty hands on so...
Seems like you need a creative outlet that could pay for itself, more than some extra cash...?
Have you thought about fine woodworking? Build a cabinet, a rocking chair or coffe table, then sell it.
i have done stuff like that many many times, it is very gratifying and sometimes i actually make some money too.

Or maybe if Ben is reading this I can soder some parts!

I have thought about wood work as my grandpa use to be a master cabinet builder as well as my uncle currently. I even though about hanging sheet rock or stuff like that.

I like flipping cars.if I want to hit it hard I do if I want to take 2 weeks off I don't have to get them done and parting out motors is good to.I do pipe fitting I'm electrician.I've sold a ton of landscaping in the spring when new construction takes off and people are putting in yards.Never know what I'll do next.Always looking to make a buck if I can.
