I would forget anything you learned on DF and pay more attention on here if your really looking to gain knowledge.

That's the real truth in the end. Who cares about what site has the most traffic, if 95% of the traffic is garbages I much rather take the site with real knowledge.

This is the shit I need to figure out. I now enough about a duramax to get buy but want to learn a lot more. I know a shit ton about a chevy gas motors new and old and a lot about mechanical diesel.

EXACTLY! :thumb: If you have to wade thru 30-40 posts of "subscribed" and general idiocy to have a conversation with someone about an idea, then whats the point? Add an idea to the conversation...thats how you learn. The worst that could happen is someone tells you that you are wrong.

BTW, burnouts were cool when I was in my 20s and didnt know any better. Nowadays, I'd rather hook-n-go, if you catch my drift. :thumb:

Mr Quick, I dont have "I know just enough to be dangerous" in my sig for nothing.

x2
It might have more traffic, but I just got tired of the same stupid questions over and over again...How much horsepower will my transmission hold? Should I get Rob or Kory to tune my truck? What's the next mod I should do?

Definitely learned a lot more in the short time I've been here.

This is definitely the place for learning!

This thread is funny

It only takes a few minutes reading posts on a forum to figure out where ya want to be. You get the general overall tone, you can sense the quality of the info thru the text, the info contained in this forum contains sustenance for performance diesel enthusiasts to gain the knowledge to take their truck to new heights of performance and handling, and the help to accomplish it.

There's always gonna be a group of guys in every forum that is a knowledgable bunch, finding them isn't always so easy, and whittling thru the mumbo and jumbo can be frustrating.

That's why this site is so great. The members here strive to keep the info on these pages strictly about performance diesels and what it takes to make them fast. No BS

Well except from me, lol:hug:

To the new guys....This place is a bigger group of family then you could possible quantify with the amount of posts you have. If you're looking for "traffic" or plain buddy buddy interaction, it's probably not going to be found here, and the greater majority of us would prefer to keep it that way.

There is not another duramax site that has a group like this one, stick around a while and see for yourself, soon enough you'll be here more and over on other sites just for a laugh....

I am just here for others enjoyment :D

DD is what I call my "home" because of the people I have met on here and even the people I haven't. Yeah I got into fights with people, but it's the Internet. The longer I was here the more I realized I may have been wrong and misinterpreted what was said. I credit a lot of people for what I know now, I couldn't have built my single cab without the knowledge here.
Rant over.

I'm definitely not one who could give two chits about a burnout. I can count the number of burnouts I've done on one hand. That said, if I'm not mistaken, the video posted in the OP was a tribute to Danny Toops who passed away in a bad wreck recently. For that purpose, & very few exceptions, I think the video & burn outs were awesome & even touching!

And FWIW, & in keeping with the direction this thread has turned, this is the only duramax-specific forum I visit daily. If there's anything to be learned about the duramax (& the rest of the truck around it) I'm convinced there is no more knowledgable group of people than right here. & I'd be very surprised if there were a question, regardless of how technical, that couldn't be answered by at least one person on here. This place is second to none in what it does - provide Dmax tech. ;)

The members here on DD are mainly entertained by burnouts that happen while rolling 50mph.

Correct sir, That's why I felt it was fitting. Its not like I posted the vid of me doing donuts and sliding around a round about before I got new tires on my truck.

That is exactly why thread title and description are kind of important :thumb:

Besides if I did a burnout Mike L would kick my ass

Back to the OP. As the description says at the bottom of the video, The convoy was put together as a memorial to Danny Toops, the owner of Toops Performance, in London Ohio. There were nearly 100 trucks that assembled to pay respects to him. He may not be well known around the Duramax world, but he was on his way to being one of the best at EFI tuning for the cummins. I think he was the one who tuned Baneen Woosely's truck in the DPC. The video was taken in front of his shop. Its a pretty awesome tribute!

I knew about it because he tuned my buddies cummins. I was going to take my truck to him this spring because that shop was kind of close.
