If it were me I would say forget the house and fix the truck. I owned a house finally got rid of it from now on I would rather waste money on the truck:spit:

Seriously though I found owning a house wasn't for me and will probably never buy one again

Shit happens. But it sounds like you have a decent plan to get the truck back on the road, so you're already ahead of the game. Good luck.

James give me a call.

Id like to say yes but im also entertaining the idea of just throwin a good rod in it and runnin it for a while till i have the money for a motor. Guess i could start investing in the lotto
If it is going to be a year before you can build it, that would definitely be your best option. You could pull the motor, swap rods, and have it back in the truck and running in a weekend if you bust your ass.

i agree but i need to compression test the rest of the cylinders first. I dont know if any others are on their way out the door or if 350 is really a good psi to be at. i dont really have a base of what the compression was before tuning and big power so im kinda blind. mitchell says 300+ psi is what i should see but thats pretty vague if you ask me

all mine were between 360-380 PSi cold

yeah i have a feelin mine are all startin to bend then......

I want to check mine now just for curiosity sakes were you guys getting the fittings for doing it an what sizes are they? Would a dealer have it an possibly lend it out you think?

i got my kit from harbor freight. cost me 28 bucks with tax. has the right size adaptor for the glow plug port. works great for it bein a 28 dollar tool lol.

So i think ive pretty much determined the truck will sit till i get the house. ive figured out some financials so that by that time ill have a couple grand in the motor fund. Id rather jsut have it sit cause it will keep me out of trouble and be cheaper on gas. i one thing for sure though, it will be gettin rods (carrillo, crower, howards), dual fuelers and 45% over injectors :D. is it bad that after two days im actually kinda excited to build it? :woott:

heck no James that's the right attitude. Good to hear you're doing the (IMO) smart thing and getting the house locked in and getting the finances straight instead of throwing everything you got at it and eating top ramen and mac n cheese for the next year.

But i sure do love some top ramen :D
