Missed this one. Truck looks great:thumb: How about some pics and specs on the Chicken?
It's a 67, i built a Pontiac 428 with slight machine work on the heads, comp 270 roller cam, forged rods, JE pistons, factory 428 crank I was able to polish up and balance nicely. (Quite rare to be able to do) typical motor upgrades really. All arp studs and bolts. Hays made a nice clutch setup for me since I do so much business with them in my real job. Muncie 4 speed trans. Engine dyno with ATI distributer and half assed quadrajet carb made 502 horse and 585 torque.
Very clean car:thumb: Sounds like it should get up a move pretty good. I really love the 428, I had one in my 74' Firebird was the 390HP version with the good heads...
I have some friends that are Pontiac Fanatics... I have never met a more die hard bunch, except for maybe the Mopar guys.
Is the Firebird unrestored original condition?
I agree. Die hard indeed. I still have a 400 v8 I need to get rid of. And the 400 HO I built for the car before I found the 428 block. I'd sell both 400 for $2500
Actually cool story about the car, my dad bought it in 1970. He also had a boss 442. Anyways I found the car a couple hours from home in a garage. Last tagged the year i was born. He quit driving it and had his buddy store it in his garage. Long long story short, I met his old buddy at a camaro meet. He had his 67 there and I ended up at his house. The car was in the garage, flat tires, bill of sale and title in the glovebox. He let me have it and im re doing it. Planning to have it at rod runs next fall and have dad meet me there. Then I'll give him the keys.
I love this truck but checked out a 15 Silverado today, black on black with every option available....
The lady insists it's a better idea to give this to her and buy me a new one. Hmm. Decisions
