I'm in the process of putting hydraulic steering on truck and was wondering how some of you have the returns plumbed up. I already have the inlet hose figured out.

yea that's my plan. Gonna cut pressure line at booster and use a compression fitting to hook hydraulic hose to it. Leave outlet line from booster to gear box in place and just tie returns back to pump.

I am not understanding your plan??? You have to have some sort of orbital valve weather you go full hydraulic or use the valve in the existing box.. If you are using existing box leave the pressure and return lines alone have the box ported for right and left those lines go to the ram...

He is basically replacing the motor driven pump with a 12v electric pump. I'm going to be doing the same thing, just have not got around to it yet. This is for a strictly pulling truck.

I see now. Should have said adding electric over hydraulic steering or just changing to an electric pump:thumb: but I guess you pulling guys understand each other..:roflmao:

The returns can be to barbed fittings, the booster rutirn is just a barbed nipple. I reused the OEM box return, just cut the hose and slid it over the fitting on pump. I can get pics

thanks. That's how I'm going do the pressure side. What did you mount the pump to? I know there is a round tube there or did you make a bracket to hold pump there

one more question. What battery did you use. I have a dual marine/rv deep cycle battery with 600 ca ,700cca and 160ra that I am planning on using. Just wondering if I should take it back and get the group 31 deep cycle battery

what size breaker, relay, fuse are yall running on this pumps? Pump does have its own relay. Making a switch panel for this and a few other things. Just don't feel all fuzzy about wiring wire straight to s switch without some kind of fuse or relay.
