I wanted aluminum so that the outsides of the pipe didn't rust. I have had no problems with the stock intercooler pipes warping from over tightening. But for now I will just bight my tongue until I can talk with them Monday.
Stock pipes are hardened aluminum. You won't bend those over tightening them. It would be great if that were available for a reasonable price. That's why I opt for 120. You get that strong pipe snd can polish it etc.. For the guys that don't want coatings to save a few bucks and still have a quality made kit, mild steel just doesn't work because it won't last and will look nasty from rusting.

Does anybody have any chaffing issues running this tube with a PPE dual fueler kit? My high pressure line lays against the inside of the tube, I put a rubber hose over it so its not metal on metal contact.

I just wanted to start by saying these discussions only help us better our HSP products.

I love building parts, and strive to build the best products available to better our trucks and our sport. We did not choose to start building our tubes steel because they are cheaper or to make more money. We knew as a company we had an issue with our aluminum tubes. We are changing the material to make sure our customers are happy with our products, and they preform as well as they look.

We have tried multiple times to price stainless steel, and .120 wall aluminum tubing. These materials would be great to use, but unfortunately we cannot keep the parts affordable for our customers.

We have had one of our new hot-side tubes in our personal truck for months now with zero signs of rust. We will be using aluminized steel tubing that is coated inside and out to be sure rust will not be an issue. The tubes will be powder coated your color of choice just like before.

Joes is your new hot side pipe powder coated or raw?

They come standard gloss black powdercoat, or color of your choice. (Powdercoat is included in the price) We do send them out raw if someone asked specifically. Many guys have a local powder coated they use, or choose to paint it them selfs.

Ok this where the misunderstanding happened because I ordered mine through Maryland performance diesel and it showed powder coated as an extra cost. I'm guessing when they ordered these through hsp they didn't realize black powder coat was free of charge.

We just put one on Saturday and it fit like a glove. Try putting the top in first. Once the boot is all the way on the turbo and the intercooler pipe is all the way in the boot you shouldn't have a problem with it hitting.

Move your clamp out a little bit. Or cut the boot shorter. It ain't gonna loose any boost being being the clamp like that. Just where its puckering that the clamp is tight.

Everything looks good, the boot won't hurt like that. Sorry you fought with it a bit, as Evan said this latest batch we've received good feedback on. Thanks!
