How wide is a dually axle

Im in the middle of converting my DD into a dually and need to know how much wider the dually axle is compared to the srw axle? How big of spacer is needed?

I haven't measured a new one, but I measured one out of an early 80s dually a while back for a project I had going. If memory serves me correctly, it was around 73" from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface.
