ok, it didn't work. i updated to everything current as of right now. i went to read gpm inject, and i got ERROR $0281, no data received. tried with truck off, on, and running

now what:confused:

I got that a couple of times too. try this.

turn truck to run, wait for a few seconds, then plug in V2. Read teh GPCM, then select Program ECM. It worked for me but the truck had to be on first then plugged in.

Just for future reference, error messages are explained in the document:
Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->Documents->EFILive Error Messages.

In that document, error $0281 is:
Description: No data received.
Cause: FlashScan or AutoCal did not receive valid data from the connected vehicle.
Action: Check all cables and connections. Make sure ignition is turned on to the run position. Make sure the vehicle is supported by EFILive.

I have a problem, I'm running I just updated everything today.

firmware 2.06.35
Boot block 2.06.03
version 8.1.2 build 95
and 7.5.6 build 114

However I still even after updating, I dont have the same prompts, I am able to find the read GPCM controls, and program ECM inj screen. I was able to to read them fine, and load them fine. However I still have no remote start capability. All the on screen prompts said I was succesfull, though.

On edit I just read Cindy's post again for a 3rd time, the ECM I just installed was new, so do I have to screw with the VAT relink number with the tuning tool? And thats my problem? Im not to concerned about that as much as I am just making sure that the GPCM and ECM are on the same page. I dont want to run into any issues because the ECM doesnt know the correct flow rates.

Well the remote start works now, I changed the igniton cycles to 1, just like Cindy suggested and it worked fine after I gave the new ecm, the Vin#, and copied over the GPCM data over to the ECM again.

But I guess I still have 2 questions.

Now that I have my remote start capability back, that's ensuring that the flow rates in the ECM are now correct. Right?

and I still cant figure out why the on screen prompts for my V2 arent what there supposed to be.
