Ive fed belts on and off before by turning an engine over by hand or bump the starter but not running:spit:

On BMW's, somtimes getting the LH threaded fan/clutch started on the water pump can be a real bizatch. Specialy with the older forward tilt hoods. If one is really fighting me, Ill have some one crank the car over (ign disabled) and i'll feed the fan right on! Bout as brave as my tricks get:thumb:

Funny you said headgaskests. Theres an arab fella we know from visiting my jobplace that was known for his 25min headgasket change:spit: Worked at a dealership in the 90's. All this toolbag did was undo the absolute minimum amount of crap that would keep the head from lifting an inch. He'd unhook the timing gear and zip the head bolts out with an impact and slide the old gasket out and the new one in with no cleaning or anything! And retighten it all with an impact  He thought he was the shiznit doin an 8hr job in 1/2 an hour till every single one cameback a week later, and the dealership caught on and fired him:rofl:

He just bought a resturant.... that I wont be eating at:rofl:
