No I haven't

That's the thing "YET"

It gets annoying seeing people recommend something they haven't tested or haven't had long enough to know if they will hold up. Do I like the idea, yes. Will I run them, yes. Will I tell people they're the only piston you'll need to buy, **** no.

ask Mark Broviak what he thinks about them, i think he has said several times hes used them in 1000+hp builds and they are doing fantastic so far but its been long enough that if one of those trucks was going to let go it would have already.

besides if i read correctly aren't the fingers pistons the ones with the thicker stronger skirt/wristpin design, the looks alone prove themselves to be more of a "top dog"

So tell me when Mark will warranty these pistons in a build.

Im not sure if many people have went the LML route yet. Not many have chimed in on them the past couple years as to what exactly it took to use them.

As for Jon's pistons, so far, so good as the more people use them. He asked for feedback, good or bad, on them as they were being used and so far there havent been any reports of breakage. I know Mark posted something a little while ago about having very good luck with them.

There are dozens of motors out there running lml pistons in the same type of build that a stock cast piston would be used in, mostly in pulling trucks. Just because it's not posted on the internet doesn't mean it's not reality;).

I dont think anyone has said that they are the only piston you need to buy. They are cut into Mahle Race Cast or Forged blanks though, so they start on a solid foundation.

they are probably the route that I will take when this engine gets built because I like the concept and their track record so far seems pretty good.

Has anyone broken a Mahle Race Cast with the regular round bowl design?

Yes, I cracked 2 out of the 8 in my engine in 2010. It was 2 seasons of truck pulling abuse and 6500 street miles with hefty abuse. Dynoed 978 rwhp (corrected) and there was probably 110+ hooks on them, the second year was single turbo Open Driveline at 2000* exhaust temps for 40+ hooks...

Do you have any results or feed back on any of these?

I can only point you to David's experience. The DTS Facebook page has a good photo catalog of the motor they had in Camomax. Just a 9sec full weight truck with 1 turbo, 70psi of boost on a lot of spray:D

There are shops all along the east coast using them, its not just DTS. And since I know of no other failures, I can't tell you "findings" since they are obviously working

It has been said that Federal Mogul makes them, but I'm not sure if it was ever proven to be true. I do know that I can't be the only one who knows how to use the search function around here...haha...theres really no need for another thread on the topic, there's already several open threads on this forum alone.

It would be nice if people would stay on topic of the OP threat.... Id also like to hear of other peoples experience of the LML pistons delipped as I have a set laying around that I received. I know of a 1000+ hp 2.6 truck with fuel being his limiting factor right now out of MN that runs them and hasn't had a issue as of yet, Couple years pulling and street use... heck he even plowed snow for awhile with it.... As well as another guy out there with a Lb7 with lml delipped pistons in it aswell that is s475 and stock charger twins daily driver that hasnt had a piston issue as well.... so far Ive seen nothing bad but would like to see alot more info or people in high high hp with good feed back as Im thinking of putting these in my Twin turbo truck..

If someone wants to donate the pistons and rod machine work, I will put them in a short block and run them in our 3.0 truck?!? I'll guarantee we could put them to the test

I couldn't imaging making a set of $2,000+ rods only work on LML pistons. When the pistons don't work out, you have a semi useless set of rods

It would be cool to set up a FundMe acct and take donations for DuramaxDiesels.com R&D projects. It's what every one of us wishes we could do full time...have a sponsored budget to just test things out and show real world results. H&S was on the right track with their youtube series. It must be nice to be able to piss away money for fun.
