LBZ: How safe are hot stock turbo tunes?

Just wondering, because mine will hit 1500 pretty easy on a approx +100 tune.

I have never even heard of a max effort tune that won't peg a 1600 degree EGT gauge with a stock turbo.

i peg my 1600* gauge by about the 1/8th on every pass.

My gauge might be there by the 1/8th as well Beech, but like Tom, I never look until I'm near the end.

I was just wondering because my tune is far from a max effort. Its pretty easy to hit 1500 with a 0-70 wot run.

I still run my old "12.40" tune from Nick, just with 400us less pulse. This year, I normally hit ~1520* at the top of the track. With higher pulse last year, EGTs were around 1720*.

I looked at my pyrometer once with a stock turbo and a big tune. Once was enough :rofl:
