I just had my S400 gone through with new bearings adn rebalanced and it cost 125 plus parts which was a little over 250 total.
Thats a really good price:baby:
S Phinney. how do you like the Silver Bullet Turbo from industrial? Was it a direct bolt in?
Check with Alamo Turbo in Edmonton or Calgary. Not my preference because they were A-holes to me, but they can rebuild a BW.
We can get you whole cartridges for cheaper than that, as has been said a rebuild should be about $300 as long as there hasn't been contact with the housings and the wheels are in god shape.
Dustin, is this $300 including rebuild parts, rebalancing and labor?
Where do you guys send your turbos or do you just rebuild them yourself?
Turbo parts are individually balanced - the compressor wheel is balanced by itself, and the turbine wheel and shaft is balanced itself. You can put the 2 together any way you want and it will be balanced. Think of it like this: if tire companies zero balanced tires and rim companies zero balanced rims you wouldn't have to balance a tire/rim combo after mounting.
But parts and labor for a rebuild (without wheel damage) is $300 for an S300. An S400 is not far from that.
