Hey guys what is a normal price for a shop to install gauges, a lift pump, and a shim valve kit on my truck? I'm trying to get an estimate for when the local diesel shop calls me back with a price.

I would say that the prices these guys gave you are for doing the install. It obviously doesn't include a lift pump ($500-600), gauges, etc.

Individually:
Shim kit - ~1/2-1 hour
Lift pump - depending on pump ~1-2 hours
Gauges - ~ 1-2 hour.

Most shops should be able to bill that out at about 3 to 3.5 hours total labor if they are doing all that, and figure $80-$100/hour labor...

So I took it to the local diesel shop this morning and the guy told me $200 for the gauge and lift pump install. I am guessing thats not to bad of a price. I decided to do the shim valve myself.
