2001+ crew cab dooley 4x4, how much can I lower it? The reason I'm asking is I'm going in for spine surgery where they will take out 2 discs, replace them with fake ones and put an 8 inch long titanium cage around my spine. I will not be able to get into a car(too low), hence a lowered truck. If I could lower it to where the seat is about arse high or slightly higher would be cool. It will be a double dually with an xfer case driving the rear axles. Any suggestions? comments? Thanks, Paul

thanks steve.

imo, if you want to get that low you will be looking into a kit from Mcgaughys Suspension. they have a 5/7 kit that includes new spindles, drop keys, rear hangers and shackles. unless you are 6'8 it's gonna be tough to get the seat to ass height b/c of the height of the frame in relation to the bottom of the cab/floor. with my frame on the ground i can just slide right in.

let me know if you have any other questions.

you guys are quick! Thanks for the replies. I've decided on a GM truck because of they ride nice, ease of lowering and of course the mighty Duramax. So I can lower the front 5in. no problem? Good, then I can figure lo-pros and come up with a rough height. Thanks again.
