How do you know your dsp5 switch is Working?

No that shouldn't matter.

You can select the following PIDs to monitor with the laptop and interface connected (before you open the Scan program!);

DSP5 Delay Counter
DSP5 Switch Voltage
DSP5 Tune

Make sure when you change the switch that you wait the time you've entered in the delay counter.

My voltages were;

0.50v Non DSP
1.45v DSP1
2.36v DSP2
3.48v DSP3
4.54v DSP4

IIRC, Non DSP should be your biggest tune.

Use the laptop on battery power only.

Yes did the full flash. Will go back out and push the pins in more. They a in there good but will check again. Sofar when I change the tune. The voltage should change also. It stays at 4.98. It has to be with the switch.

Pulled pins back out and put them back in. same issue. Does it matter which wire is the ground? And the wire that was the ground I discnnected a grounded to the chasis. still reading 4.98v? bad switch...

The switch is pretty basic, disconnect it from the ecm and confirm the resistance changes. Are you using the right LBZ pin positions on the correct connector? The ground can go anywhere as far as I know but the right (non ground) ecm pin must be connected to the switch. It would be nice to know if it is a hardware or software problem. I just looked but couldn't find the LBZ install instructions. Is the 4.98 v reading from the laptop PID?

I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure the voltage reading in the PID has nothing to do with the tune. I think it should change when the switch is moved no matter what tune is in. Try checking the voltage on the signal wire and see if you are getting 5 volts on the wire. If you aren't seeing anything, you aren't making contact.

When you pulled the pins back out, how did you release them? They should lock into place when they are fully seated.

THe tune was correct as I sent it to Dustin. In scan tool the volts change as you turn the switch.

When you pulled the pins back out, how did you release them? They should lock into place when they are fully seated.

Come to find out the pin that was in hole 46 was not connecting even though it was pushed down as far as it would go. Also did the ohm meter and did not read anything. So I pulled the pin back out and cut it off and put a new one in. Made sure it was seated and would not pull out. Started truck and scan tool and we have contact!!! Would like to say thx to all of you that help out with keep checkin back!

I just turned it to where my lope tune was and it started loping when I turned the knob, turned it again and it was the regular idle,, that's how I figured it wad working..oh and when you are on the race tune I'm sure you wil know it, I certainly did lol

Dustins races tune was first. Don't have a lope tune. And I went in and change his unique idles he had so there was just a little difference between the five tune sound wise.

Yea his race tune is the first tune aswell, and my lope tune is the last. Hadn't put one of the ecu wires in deep enough to "click", I then did that and everything worked great!
