Mongoose cable and the hacked laptop version off mhhauto works better than the Chinese clones.

@pl_silverado Post Mongoose cable I have never heard of this. Are you just talking about a J2534 pass through? I have an Autel one.

MHHAuto version requires Windows 7 or 10? I have both kinds of laptops.

I couldn't get the mongoose cable to work on the XP or the Windows 7 version I have. I have to use my Tech 2 as the pass through

From what I recall installing it the first time, I had to fiddle with some of the comm settings to get it to work. I’ve been using it with tech2win for about a year now with no issues.

Any j2534 pass through device and a copy of tech2win will work fine. There is the newest gds2 with 2025 vehicle support and tech2win on vxdiag.

I'm using them both on windows 10 and 11 with either a nano or mdi2 clone.

My VXDiag VCX nano never worked.................. I wish it would have. Pretty sure I threw it out because their tech support is abysmal at best.

Only reason I had suggested that one is because it comes all pre setup and seems to work. And you get a laptop out of it if you need one. And you get to skip the experience you had lol

But going into their website I wonder if I can install the GDS2 just from their site and use my correct Autel tool. Would have to try I guess, maybe when I get home.

Lol mine works great surprisingly. It actually is faster than this junk MDI2 clone I have that identifies as a MDI 🤔

For the nano to work you have to open vx manager first, connect to nano then open whatever software you want to use.

Yes that will work fine if the autel is a VCI200 or Elite. The cracked GDS2 software is right on vxdiag website.
