I have an 05 that has a blown HG. Stock turbo. Not sure how running more boost or bigger tunes to accommodate a bigger turbo is gonna not blow a HG. I thought the gasket type changed for the LBZ and up..... and all the 01-05 trucks have the same type.???

tuning can also play a roll... high cylinder pressure can blow headgaskets. Nothing is an absolute with these trucks. Why have i made 100+ passes at 580-670 hp and not hurt my engine? its a crap shoot... Some guys have cracked pistons on a 500 tune and others have not.

Must just be my luck :D

Truck runs like a raped ape, even with the amount of weight I carry in it. Trans is what amazes me. Its still surviving with the amount of abuse I throw at it.

Guess I got a monday truck....:D

It's nice to get a Monday truck. I have never had mine back to dealer going 5 yrs. and nobody here can hardly believe it, they all had the steering rattles etc. common stuff some might nit pick on but it's possible to get a good one still. I set the EFI at 386 hp and 792 torque on a dynojet and no smoke nice mpg and will run like crazy for winter tune it's just right. Tires went way up in price so it's time to save those mudders I guess. EFI is great if you just put it on and finally use it. PPE ain't bad though still liked that one alot. Twins are next though with the stock turbo modified as recommended lots of reading on Trent's new ideas coming into next seasons' mix and see how he might set up one for a streeter these new supercharged Camaros and Vettes are fast I just want to hang right on top of them if it's on. They do not like Duramax spankin's do they?

I have never really saw a correlation between bigger turbo's blowing head gaskets, I have ran up to 60 psi for extended time on stock bolts , and close to 100 on the cheap ARP's , far more trucks with stock turbo's blow them than aftermarket guys . Also I think that if there is enough cylinder pressure to blow the head gasket, you will likely be in rod bending territory , there is far more pressure in the combustion chamber than what "boost" is , the extra boost / air from a larger turbo increase's it from adding more HP ( AKA bigger explosion ) but usually drops EGT's too , but high EGT's from a stock turbo / lots of fuel raises cylinder pressure also, heat creates pressure so factor in the EGT reduction of a larger turbo system / higher boost and ........................... .
