Hot trans

So this has been going on for a while now, my trans temp is constantly climbing and running abnormally hot. It’ll consistently climb up into the 230’s causing me to pull over on my 45 minute drive home these past few days. I’ve been trying to do research on some maintenance actions I should be taking but I’m unsure of what to do. Eng coolant temps will stay in the 170’s during this time as well.

Trans cooler probably needs a flush and the rad could be getting dirty

In which case he has a problem.

Get an infrared thermometer and make sure the sender is right. Had a problem on friends boat where it showed it was over heating, but when I put my thermometer on it it showed close to thermostat readings, changed gauge and no more overheating.
