Has anybody ever ran any hot diesel like Scheids lighting fuel? Its super expensive at 12 bucks a gallon. Just wondering if anybody has run it with the truck tuned to run the hot fuel, and what the pro's and con's were over regular diesel.

Less smoke, some power in it, around 50hp on a ~1400hp single setup if IIRC. It has way more cetane than any of the pump stuff, better lubricity, etc. You can dial in the tune to the fuel and know that the fuel is going to be the same rather than getting good/bad fuel from the pump. This was Syndiesel not Scheid fuel but I'd expect similar results since I doubt there's much difference if any, between the two fuels.

Barrel B100 will get you more HP than anything else on the market...even running the Scheid or Hypermax additives with the Standadyne lubricity additive (REQUIRED) with cetane boosters. The Scheid additive will make a low compression diesel start night and day better than "pump diesel"... The b100 likes to slobber on startup until engine gets warm.

Do not ask me how I know any of these things....:D;)

And where does one acquire B100, if they weren't really looking . I only show B6-B20 near me. We've never run anything but pump #2 (as seen in avatar), time to start playing.

Not to steer away from op's tuning question, but a friend of mine has a 2.6 cummins, he make his own batch of "hot fuel" it's a mixture of bio diesel. I remember seeing in his shop a jug of cetane and a jug of soy bean something. Smells nothing like a diesel while running and it does like to slobber out of the exhaust until running high rpm. He claims an extra 70hp from this stuff. Of course he won't share the specific ingredients.

Sledpullers are definitely the resident experts on fuel concoctions. You guys would pour hot sauce in the cell if you thought it gave you the edge.

Tractor pulling shops sell it, it's a special b100 for performance, co-op or pump b100 has like 20% impurities, fats and oils, this stuff is 98.5-99.5% pure biodiesel...

I've never ran any of the stuff, just heard stories and seen friends results......

Don't take what I said as even remotely negative, I didn't mean it that way. I love hearing everyone's recipe for pulling fuel. 2-stroke oil, ATF, Stanadyne, Nitro (not that legal), you name it, someone swears by it.

Didn't take it that way at all! We pull with the NTPA, they are very strict on fuel.... We can't blend any biodiesel in with regular diesel or it fails and you are DQ'ed... We honestly have ran Scheid Cetane additive with Standadyne lubricity formula at Scheid's NTPA specs, and the truck started on an 25* day after setting in the trailer outside for 2 months, without glow plugs and without either.... And I bumped injector pulse width 100 us to get more smoke to run cooler egts back.

I used to mix a gallon of ATF with half gallon of cetane booster. Added on top of that was 3 gallons of off road diesel. Would make my exh. pre turbo glow white for some reason :D
