Brian, I was told your dyno day was a success and Greg, I was at yours and it went smooth.

What would you guys do different?
What seemed to work good?
How many truck were ran in a day?

Greg's was good. I would say though that the operators need to know more about how to dyno diesels as some of the first trucks had issues with operating range and rpms.

Bring chairs.

1st, make sure they have done diesels before, have a rpm pick-up, ventalation for stacks or large exhaust, Large fans to blow on our engines, quick strap system down to a tee so were not waiting on trucks to get strapped. 30 trucks a day is a good day. 40 would be amazing. Keep it to a strict 3 pulls and your done!!! To many of the "big HP favorites" get more pulls than others and thats not fair.

2nd, a place with alot of parking, alot of room to gather around, a good road in front to do burnouts on.

3rd, Get a count of people who are coming so you dont go overboard on the food/drinks cost, maybe get people to pay online ahead of time to reserve a spot and help you by giving the dyno shop a deposit. Lets go a day early to get it set up so we dont have to wake up at 4am.

4th, put flyers out and maybe do a radio add. Any monster trucks you can park by the hiway near the dyno shop? Thats always a attention getter.

Thanks Tommy. I think i have already been to 3 dyno comps this year, 3 last year and a few before that. We will see but i got a email saying my truck is coming out in DP mag again for the dyno comp i went to last year in Abq and destroyed all the dodges.

it all kinda works itself out. Newly posted up a nice set right there !

A good sign up sheet would have made things a bit smoother. make an area for peoples numbers and a good running order.

People that say they will come is one thing but the people that show up is a diffferent tally and what time they show be prepared for that.

It was easy and it was fun !

Would have been nice to have some food on the spot but doughnuts and sodas worked out.

we're gonna have another one in 09. Not sure where yet though.

Just some thought about what I would do after attending my last Dyno Event.

1. Shoe polish numbers on the front window, so everybody knows where to line up and the operator is not searching for who CAN go next.

2. Make sure the equipment is functioning correctly before the event.

3. Have everybody select what class they are dynoing for (If classes are being run), and have it marked on the entry form. That way the cordinator does not need to guess when the event is over.

4. If you have an event, make sure you can put up results in a timely manner, because people did fork out alot of money for a "Competition"...

Newly hit the nail on the head.

Also make sure they know where the tach pickup goes you be surprised how many dyno shops say.

At the bartling event, we dynod 36 trucks including mine, and the owners little 5.3 that put out 507hp.

Once you find out a date, call me i can make a flier like i did the bartling event.

we had 15 trucks. Shoe polished numbers is a great idea and that should have been done at ours ! Ours went smooth but that would have secured their spot ! I tried my best to let people know who they were after and i think that helped out in that area...

i also had help from people that have attended dyno days and their input was good.

Hire Dave Dunbar and Mike Bandrib to run their dyno, then sit back and watch the fun. Those two are incredible.

I have some ideas now. I am even thinking making entry forms up to get a number, and pre-pay will help a lot (have like if you pre-pay its $5 less before a certain date).

Newly, if you know for sure maybe you can come early and give me a hand. am thinking 20-25 trucks would be good.

Also thinking like 2 classes. Info on breaking the classes up would be great, like stock turbo vs. AM turbo, or single cp3 vs dual/modded cp3. just something that breaks it up a little.

Keep em comming, I'm getting good info and got a good list down.

Lets do this. We need to put alot of effort into peaple knowing that ALL diesel trucks are welcome and not just dmaxes. I think that would be the ticket.

Thats a good idea there for sure, i havent run at LV yet. There is a southern nevada powerstroke group somewhere around there.
