ok, got off the phone with Cody at II and he sold me the fitting that goes into the CP3 and holds the check ball for $37 and some change and the fitting to replace the FPRV bolt for $32 and change....so I ordered 2 sets and the screw on fittings are 17mmx 1.5 he said so i'll just get those fittings from my buddy who does hose and i'll order the Parker line tomorrow

 WOW! Thats great that they'll sell the bits and pieces like that, mighty nice of them! Once you get to see those, you'll see how hard they might have been to get! One other idea to throw out there... If you want to avoid the Parker line bit, a guy could get the rail-fitting type ends for the hose and some super duty stainless line (like stock line) and TIG weld the ends on! Of course to a pre-bent line ;) :D

Cody told me they are switching to a hard line soon, but don't know when they'll get around to measuring everything out and making a jig. now i remember in MDE's thread about DIY 2CP3's, he offered all the tooling info to make the conical fittings and where to get hard line and that he bent it with a big tubing bender with 2" radius, where would i get these threaded fittings?

The problem with my supplier was not getting the fittings, it was having the equipment to CRIMP the fittings to the line. Do you have someone lined up to do this?

It feeds the line directly from a CP3 pressure element to the LB7 fuel distribution block where another special fitting is required. A new fitting screws inplace of the hi-psi regulator/relief valve. You know, the one that alot of you guys shim or plug the bolt in the other end.

I wonder if maybe thats why you noticed an improvement. Not because is flowing more fuel, but simply because the relief valve has been eliminated.

Just a thought.....

i need to talk to my buddy who does custom hose work. i looked at the crimping style of the feed line and it doesn't look any different than a high quality braided brake hose. i will have to talk with him about it when i have everything here, i am sure that if he can't do it he knows who can, he has been in the custom hose business for 30 years. my question above was about the hard line fittings, would they really be the same as the rest of the fuel fittings on the truck? i don't have both types in front of me to compare the two

ok, update:

my guy called his buddy at Parker who then called the special division that deals with ParFlex and they sell the line and ends crimped on. however it was so expensive to go this route that he didn't even give me the figure. this is the only place to get them crimped, and the ends are made special for the ParFlex to crimp to. So....I am going to get in touch with his buddy that does hard line and get some figures from him. he used to work with this company and told me this route should be no more than $100. bringing the total cost to somewhere around $175 TOPS. and since II is switching to hard line once they decide to put a jig together, hopefully their price comes down for the masses too.

I have 2 sets of fittings from II and had ordered 2 lines from them over a month ago but they never sent them, luckily they hadn't charged my card yet for the lines. I called a few times but whenever they would pickup after me being on hold for 10+ minutes, they would accidentally hang up.....my opinion is that the shop is full of incompetent kids and they do not deserve my business, so i am looking elsewhere for more powa'!! they'll be getting my fittings back by next week.

just to update:

after talking to Super Diesel, aaron installed 3 shims in the FPRV and installed a second carter lift pump and it made quite a difference in rail pressure. i wanted him to put the second pump up between the FICM and the oem filter and cmmd_on from the hobbs switch but he didnt have much time so he put in next to the other one on the frame and wired it into the same harness. he said with both on a CEL came on at idle and it was putting out 22psi instead of 7 ish with the single and his log from the pull the other night said it held 21-22k psi at rail at a doggy 3500rpms in 3rd since he was running new STS's too. that's not the same as a log from the strip but its definitely a 2k psi at the rail improvement from last years pull logs. so from this test i think the speculators were correct and the "extra fuel" is not what is making the power from these II kits ;)

<<<< Under Pressure
Good to hear it helped. I'm believing alot more folks has this problem with LB7s than actually know it. When i ran duals it made a HUGE difference when getting to the higher pressures. However I did notice the other day that the pressures had dropped and I didn't know why. When I was taking the FPRV apart the other day, I noticed some tiny cracks along the out side of it between the shut off area on it. It was letting the pressure bleed by and into the return system. I removed the whole thing and replaced it with a rail plug (one that was from the end of a HP rail off a Dmax). Fit right in. I don't like this solution but I can control the rail pressure to what I want now (once again).

For folks wondering and don't know already, the FPRV is on the junction block just in front of the intake bridge right below the turbo intake (not the reg that's bolted to the CP3). It runs the same direction as the front axle and has three hard black return lines hooked to the end of it with a banjo bolt. This is how it bleeds off pressure to the return system. I can't recommend this or running higher rail pressure. It's user beware.
