Well this weekend was full of fun with this repair. I didnt know what i was getting into when i started but its about back together now. There is ALOT of shit that has to come out to get to the evaporator core. Just couldnt see spending almost 900 dollars to have someone do it. Has anyone ever replaced there carpet in there truck? If so, wheres a good place to get it? Mine is past the point of being able to be cleaned.

I would have done the heater core while I was there.

I've gotta break into mine soon :( the ac turns to hear randomly and you've gotta restart the truck to get it to go back to ac just putting it off as long as I can lol

Do not buy carpet from acc! Horrible fit and the holes were not there. I would pull your carpet and scrub it down with simple green and power wash it. If it doesn't clean it up just throw some weathertechs in it and forget about it.

I took my carpet to Stanley Steemer. They gave me a weird look but they cleaned the heck out of it and when i picked up the carpet it looked like new.

Dam I have been putting this off for two years and this year I thought there is no way im going another summer with no ac until I saw this thread. I can just imagine all the little clips I would break trying to get that out not to mention the dash would probably rattle after I put it back together.
