150 dollars is cheap if it goes only with refreshing bearings/balancing and really have billet wheel as they say. It is good charger and will make some power.

I'd be mighty surprised if a DIY'er could handle balancing a comp wheel to the knats tooth with any equipment commonly found in your garage. I don't know the process but assume it needs a pretty reasonable amount of accuracy & precision to balance one since there can't be any wobbling issues at 15-20k rpm wheel speed. That's just my guess.

Aside from the balancing though, I think rebuilds on center section, if they're rebuildable units, is a doable task at home. I know the dodge guys buy & install rebuild kits for their stock chargers.

Interesting endeavor though. Be fun to see how you manage on this task.

easy rebuild and the shop I use charges under $100 to balance wheels. I just did a HX35 for $65 in parts, $92 in balance and $60 in labor for a customer. Pretty straight forward.

I know I'd be looking at a pro for the balance but it seems most of the labor comes in the rebuild itself.

Keep us updated:thumb: Is that a t4?

T5 ;) but yea very similar to t4 just needs a little convincing to make work.

that's what I wanna hear! So for balancing do I send out the shaft and both wheels or do I complete the rebuild and send the whole unit? If I can get a balance for $100 I could see this working out to a little over $300 for a freshly rebuilt turbo :D

Quit acting like your actually gonna put it on your truck Beach, You know your too scared:blah::poke::)

lol I wish I was scared and not just broke all the time. Staring at parts all day you can't afford blows lol. Hoping business picks up a bit now that summer is rolling around
