So I finally installed my gauges. I havent been too worried about it as i've only been running Rob's stock trans tunes. But when I ripped on it yesterday on the 150 tune my egt's hit 1500. I didn't think it would get any where near that or does that seem normal? My buddies lb7 with same tuning wont go past 1300 he said. Thanks for the input

Seems about normal for a 150 tune. 1500* won't hurt for a few secs you just don't want to continually see that or stay in it at that high of EGTs.

Alright thanks, I try to keep it under 1100. I just didn't think it would get that high on a 150 tune

Rob has been know to keep vanes closed on his tunes and not allow them to open up which can cause high drive pressure and higher egt's do you have a EFI V2? or a edge insight to watch vane position?

Ok, I have a autocal or I'll just grab a Tech2 from work and watch it when I go home today. Thanks

lol yeah I was going by what others told me. That was at 3/4 throttle for maybe 15-20 seconds. Rather be safe than sorry lol Thanks

when the needle hits the peg at 1600* and wraps past it before you even catch 5th gear, thats high egts lol

better to be safe than sorry. Honestly unless you tow an egt gauge is useless. I cant remember the last time i saw my gauge pegged and actually lifted off the skinny peddle hahaha

I don't lift when it pegs the 1600* gauge either. I usually wait about 3-5 seconds then lift. Unless whoever I'm racing is still close lol.

Yup I agree with everyone! At the track I have seen my gauge get right on 1600* with a little bit of track left and I stay in it! Worse case I have a reason to build my motor :thumb:

Lol yeah I'd at least like to get my trans built before my motor not that I'm planning on building a motor lol
