hids 12000k

ok i have heard a few things from various people on what lights to get, but i ready to order am got a little confused like what is this 12000k watts. i know i am getting ddmtuning ones but idk what watt to get. i have an 02 the lights are 9005 hi beams 9006 low beams. if i were to get lets say 5000k for my lows would they be brighter than my stock hi beams? some one clear this up so i can just order these things.
o ya and i have hids in my low beams and they went out thats why im replacing them. any help would be appriciated

5k/6k/8k/...... its the temperature/colour of the light.

5k kind of stock looking....yellowish white
6k white white white......this is what you want (its what i have)
8k white with a small presence of blue
10k you can tell they are blue

man i dont know what HID's you keep talking about but 5k has NO yellow in it, 6k-8k is pretty damn blue 8k+ you start getting purple

I have 4300k in my truck and they have a very very small hint of blue to them but they are very white. 4300k is what all the OEM cars come with and is the closest to real light. Anything over 5k you start losing light output and start just gaining color

So if you want looks go for 6k+ if you want most useable light on the road go for 4300-5k

Im gonna take a side by side of my truck with 4300k vs my dads with 6000k and , his lights are very blue, same with my uncles 6k. i have yet to see a set of 6k+ that hasnt looked like that

it varies so much. i had 8k that were white with some blue. hate any blue in a headlight
now im running 6k and i dont see any blue.
like i said i varies from where you get your stuff,

ok well you two gave me two different answers either one of you had any experience with ddmtuning?? to tell me which one i should get i want white with barely a hint of blue too much blue is ricey

yea thats true, the 2 kits i put in my dads and uncles , 1 was ebay other was DDM, both are very blue at 6k

i think 4300k is 3100 lumens, vs like 6k which is 2600-2800 i cant remember but that means you are losing light output

we werent arguing? Just stating experience. Im just saying ive never seen a 6k kit that wasnt pretty blue. I've sold/installed nearly every brand of HID on the market so just giving some opinion

regardless you cant argue lumen output, 4300-5k has highest output

I have VVME 8k's in my lows and fogs... they have a touch of blue... you can tell they are blue but it's not a deep blue and they are very bright. I have 10k's in my highs.. they are barely any more "blue" than the 8s. Both very bright. Below 8k they aren't going to be very blue, maybe just a hint.

I love the 6000K from DDM in my wife's 02. They have an ever so slight, I mean you cant really notice unless pulled close to something. Only then can you see a hint of blue. Just looking at them shining at you or light on the road, i can't tell any blue. They're very bright IMO. I guess 4300 is actually the brightest but these are very Brits IMO. Only gripe I have is slow to come to full brightness when switching from highs to lows or vise versa. Just take too long to warm up. So I need to do "all on" mod so at least the lows stay lit while the highs warm up.

No other qualms with our DDM HID's. Had them since beginning of this year.

6000k will get you the closest to a factory match, as many of the oem projector lens have a slight blue hint when running 4300k bulbs. If you put them in your stock housings you will need to make up the blue with kelvin temp. of the bulb hence the 6000k

DONT do the 55w... at least not in your lows. I have 8k lows (35w) like I mentioned before, that technically are not the brightest on the scale and I get flashed constantly. I have lowered them too... still happens. 55w will just be plain rude. I almost did 55's in my highs...but the 35s are bright enough.

I have 55W 8000K in my Lows, 35W 8000K in my fogs. Wouldn't change a think. Love every second of them.

Personally, 8000ks are perfect. White with a hint of blue. Go ahead and do 55w's in your lows, but 55Watts is to much for in your fog housing. I didn't want brights because when flashing them, they wouldn't be bright. They take to long.

4300k is what all factory HID's are, which also has a higher lumen output vs 6000k

Thats crazy how much more blue your's are than mine. There almost completely different colors.
