I bought a set off of a member here last year. Don't remember who though. I'll do some digging. I haven't installed them yet but the quality of everything looks amazing.

+1 on ddmtuning.com. I've only had mine on a couple weeks now but I'm happy with them. A friend of mine has had some from them for several month with no problems. You can't beat the price and they seem to last from reading on the forums.

I'm interested in this as well. I know absolutely nothing about HIDs, though I'd like to have a set in my truck. My brother recommended ddmtuning, but I don't know the specs of what all I need. I want bright white with no tint, so I figure I need 5K.
I have the all-on mod so I want to install HIDs in the highs, lows, and fogs.

My major concern would be splicing into the factory harness...if I have to, HIDs are not worth that to me.

I have Retro Solutions on the truck. Had them for 5 years, one bulb burnt out but Todd replaced it under the lifetime warranty, no questions asked. Great service. I have the 5,000k 55watt in my low beams and HIR (not HID) high beams.

I have the cheap DDM HID's in the fog lights on the S4. Only in the foglights because the headlights are HID from the factory. It was like 30 bucks for 3000k (yellow-ish). They work perfectly so far, and dont cause any "foglight bulb-out" warnings either, which is nice. (newer audi's monitor/warn you when any bulb is burnt out on the car)

No complaints with either the "nicer" expensive Retro Solutions HID's, or the cheap-ass DDM HID's...

I think the VVME's were 150.00 bucks to do High/Low/Fogs. No flicker issues what so ever... I couldn't believe the difference in lighting with the all on mod done.

I've done 03 up trucks for under 100 high, low, and fog. IMHO 5000K gives you the brightest white light. From what I've read 4300K is supposed to be true white.
Listed as highs, lows, and fogs respectively
For 01-02 you need 9005, 9006, and 880 bulb types.
For 03-07 you need 9005, 9006, and 9145 bulb types.
For 08-11 you need 9005, H11, and 5202 type bulbs.
On the 08- up truck you have to disable DRL, I believe it's just pulling a fuse or two.

Once you have HIDs you will never want a vehicle without them.

Thanks for the info guys!

Do I have to splice into the factory harness or is it all plug and play? Where have you found to mount the ballast? Also what wattage should I get 35 or 55...I've heard horror stories of HIDs causing electrical fires? Lastly, do I need to buy projector housings?

What bulb type and color should I get? From DDM. I have never bought these mind you!

For globe colour with no funny effect 4.3-5K is what works best.
I have specialised in HID for nearly ten years and I alway see people go for 6k and above but you will loose 30% of your total luman[actual light volume] if you go from 4.3K to 6K. 5K is about 10% reduction in out put but can be a good option as the slight increase in brightness can be a advantage without the weird effects you get from higher coulour globes.
I could send you some nice stuff but the freight would be a fair bit:thumb:
