I have a single 6" on my 05 that is even with the cab. It drones a bit in town, right around 2000 RPM, and is a little louder when you're mashed. On the freeway it seems quieter than my rear exit 4" exhaust was. No muffler here and I don't mind it at all, haven't really towed with it yet though.

Even if drone is bad I wonder if some sound deadening on the back wall wouldn't help a ton.

I did all four doors in dynamat on my old truck to silence my 35's and help my sound system.
Definitely an improvement.

I know it's not from inside the truck but you still get a feel for the sound difference as opposed to a rear exit exhaust. I'll try to get one up for you later. BTW-If it's too loud you can always get a Hushpower muffler.
