Hey guys, need an assist here

So today, I experienced my first no-start with my '01 LB7. After being parked overnight, we climbed in & cranked the starter. She fired up, ran for a second, then stalled. After that she just cranked & did not attempt to start. The wife & I looked at each other like WTF?!?

So I sat there & thought for a minute. Popped the good, jumped up and pumped the primer about 10 times & told the wife to turn the key. It started right up, and it's been fine all day.

While I was pumping up the primer, I saw fuel leaking from the filter head by the sensor with the red wire coming out. So I know I need to rebuild my filter head. Here's where I need the assist.

I am trying to find the member who offers the filter head rebuild o-ring kits. I'm sure I read a thread about it on this forum a little while back. Or maybe it was a link to another diesel forum, I just can't remember, and I can't find it today for the life of me. Search function hasn't been much help for me on this. Thanks in advance.

Here's a pic I just took of my filter base. What is the sensor that the red wire connects to?

Nicktane has rebuild kits as well as Merchant Auto.

if i'm not mistaken the red wire is the power side for the heater that is in the filter head

i had trouble with mine leaking right there and it turned out to be the heater itself was leaking, not the oring around it. i found that out after i had already rebuilt it twice

How did you fix it? Did you have to replace the heater, or was there a gasket there?

Mine wouldn't start again this morning. Had to prime it again. But I was in a hurry and didn't really look close at WHERE the fuel comes out. But it actually squirts, I can hear and see it. Guess I should pay more attention! :rofl:

there is an oring under where the heater comes through the base, and I thought that is what was leaking but it wasn't. I actually had to get a whole new filter head

Well, it happened again this morning, and it seems to be coming from the heater mostly. Hmmmmm, not sure what to think now. I'll have to study it when I have it apart, don't really want to buy a new filter head.

Is there any other way to fix that problem?

Not yet seems there on the snail truck lol but I'm in no hurry. But not sure if they even moved by the looks of the tracking the way they do it there its werd. See if you think its moved from there or not ?

Gotta say, that looks strange. If you don't get it by the 7th like it says, I'll go down there & raise a stink. I can't believe that it might still be sitting at the sort facility in Anchorage. That's beyond stupid..... Way to go USPS.

I fixed my filter head issue yesterday, pretty simple job actually.

I ran those tracking numbers again, it says delivered on the 7th. Hopefully YOU have the parts, and not somebody else! :angel:

Yes they were at the front door wife stuck them inside. Been getting in with the birds chirping it was out site and did not open it. I will pop it open when I get home this morning and add this to my others. I'm up to I think a total of 10 bottles again. :happy2:
