Hello everyone, new to the forum and thought I'd say hello. I've been trying to read up on diesels and what not because I'm looking to sell my 2011 Mustang GT for a diesel. I think I've decided on a Durmax and just wanna make sure I'm making the right decision. I found a 2003 2500 at a dealer near me for a decent price, plan on looking at it soon. Anyways hello from Dfw Texas :hello:

Thanks guys, I will be reading as much as I can. Is there any specific threads you recommend reading? Also when I go look at the truck is there anything I need to be looking hard for?

Welcome to DD. I'd be happy to come help you check over the truck you're looking at if you'd like. I live in Burleson.

That'd be awesome, the place I am looking is in Mansfield(North Texas Truck Stop).

I know the place well, which truck is it?

I was looking at the 03 (should be the only 03 chevy) but I started thinking maybe I should go a full 4 doors. Not sure how big the half cab is.

Anything thats 2001-2004 you want to check the balance rates before buying, which I can do for you with my CTS. If you don't have kids or a lot of people riding long distances with you on a regular basis then the extended cab (which is what I have) is perfect IMO. There's enough room back there for all your junk which is pretty much what a man's back seat becomes full of anyways lol Feel free to give me a call next time you go look at it and I'd be happy to try to meet you up there.

Is there anytime that's better than another? Also anything specific to look for on an 06?

Welcome to the site. I'm not too far away from you. I know a guy who has a really clean fully loaded LBZ crew cab short bed 4x4 he's trying to sell for $16,500. It has around 140k miles on it. The only negative against it is it has a salvage title. I can get you pics if you're interested.
